am I missing something? It says you just have to download some files, but then it seems to jump right to the download directory without telling you which files to download and where from.

How do you get through with the puzzles in the walls ? I though of this since I went to bed yesterday 😊 I a HUGE VR fan, I was in the club since Oculus DK2, been there done that ever since, but this might be a deal for my friend, he don't like VR and get sick every time he touches Alyx 😅

Can I play it with 8Gb RAM quad core AMD processor? I have 6GB NV GTX 1060 as well.

This is a very helpful video but in my opinon I think that playing this game without vr kinda ruins it so I recommend for you to wait for either an official non vr mode if it comes out or wait to be able to buy a headset because this is impossible to play and wasn't made to be played like this if you don't enjoy it thats why I recommend waiting

Well, I have the main menu up... It will highlight ..... But can not actually select anything .. Any ideas please.

So with no VR, it's basically Half-Life 2.

This video was linked from an article trying to say how this mod proves why it was made VR-only but the only thing it convinced me of was that HL Alyx should have been VR controller-only since the only thing it mentioned was the gravity gloves and... that's it. And from watching gameplay videos, I can definitely say that is the only thing that makes the game pretty much unique to VR, the headset itself is not required for literally anything and the fact that the Index controllers weren't required for individual finger movement proves that not much is unique to VR or to even the best possible most immersive VR controls.
