This is about as clean and modern as it gets.
100 years ago tannerys were filthy disgusting dangerous places, where half and skin were removed by hand using a sharp knife, leather was soaked in lime, then in a hot solution of dog and chicken faeces for days on end, the bacteria removed smaller hairs, then more washing and drying, all in badly lit factories or barns full of huge containers and no electricity

I'll bet that poor man who has to go into the barrel to remove the wet skins gets an extra 50 to 60 cents more a week than guys who get to stay dry.

i can smell that thing my father use to collect it when i was young he buy salt to spread it to the skin to preserved it until the skin buyer and collect all the skin and scale all of it until now i can smell it... hehehe even we dont collect it anymore.... haha
