Wow! It left me in awe of what can be achieved with the right vision and expertise. Your ability to transform homes and lives is truly impressive, and this episode was a testament to that. I'll definitely be watching more of these uplifting transformations.

This definitely was not the architect for them. Looks great, but and it's a big but... 40k over budget for one room excl his fees for a young family with a fancy ext...not worth it. The stubborn old man didnt even want to put in lights.

The only thing I would change is having the roof black or deep red or green. Absolutely love the shape and windows.

I would love to hear a good downpour hitting that roof!

Beautiful extension...but the roof took up 76% of the couple's modest budget. This show proves again the architects are building to their whims rather than taking the owner's actual needs into account.

These skylights look very unique, but perhaps as a Chinese, I prefer old-fashioned British architecture haha. Our house is modeled after British architecture. I think it's both quaint and a profound luxury。但是引光进来确实很美🎉

Beautiful timbers and shape--but aluminum was a bad choice. It's passable for the homeowner but a huge industrial eyesore for any neighbor. I wouldn't want to see my neighbor roof shining brightly when I'm having a garden cuppa.

They couldn't find a few hundred dollars to hire someone to power wash that nasty old roof?

The premise of this series seems to be fancy-pants architects promising Big Things to average homeowners, then spending twice the budget.

As far as back extensions go, I love it. It is unique, not the ordinary box and certainly not boring. Well done!!!!

I don't like it.
They could have accomplished the same thing for less money, if they went a little more conventional. And it wouldn't feel unfinished.
Or… They could have build a giant conservatory for their kitchen and living room. Which would've been regal.

I think this work added value of their house. It's not easy to start that kind of big transform. Now they have the drawing of famous professionals, that is real fortune.

Not a fan of the space ship vibe and they went over budget by double! A more conventional roof would have looked better and saved them a ton of money.

Love the finished product. The only issue i would have is a tin/metal roof that has zero insulation. Guess energy costs aren't a concern.

how do you keep this extension clean ? how do you reach the sealing to do it ?

£ 38.000 for the roof and their budget is £50.000, that is so disrespectful to the owners. Another big ego architect not honoring budget.

I like how the british build things. The wood structure is always is much stronger than 2x4s Even your windows are built much better than what we build here in America. It's sad to say that when we build Is here in america it's as cheap as possible in most cases. Today we get less for more money. Greed has taken over. 😢

$50K pounds = $63K in the U.S. & that is not much of a budget to renovate with the cost of everything has gone up. The $90k ponds it cost =$114,903.K in U.S. funds. I knew what they were asking to d was Not going to get done with their original budget. The addition sure turned out nice. It’s too bad their backyard garden looks so bland now though

I have a 1951 rancher, the American equivalent of a bungalow, and it would be a dream come true to have an architect of this caliber work on my ticky tacky box. Just outstanding!

A very very good idea...but the aluminium is not one of my favorite material.

The family ended up with one bedroom, a bathroom, an undefined space, and the startling contrast of the great room area. They spent all their money and then some. The new living space is spectacular, but the house as a whole still doesn't really flow in terms of daily life. How much did it cost to reconfigure the old part to get two bedrooms, let alone an en suite?

40k over is no victory no matter how great it looks

I like how at the end it says the architect's fee wasn't in the budget. His fee, I'm guessing, would be well over the cost of this whole build. That's sad they had to sell it.

The new extension looks like a warehouse, it's hideous. And it doesn't fit to the rest of the house.

That would have been so much nicer if they did what my mum did when she extended her kitchen massively and put on one of those huge roof windows in. Hers is about 7ft by 4ft and the light that comes in is amazing!. The whole roof is almost all light. That is so dark with no light in the roof. Would have been so much nicer in that community too. This looks like an air raid shelter

it so BEAUTIFUL and EXTRAORDINARY...but i should leave her with a runny trashy addition to a house for not appreciating this project, some people just CAN"T GET OUT OF A BOX so they must be left in it...at least she changed her mind about it but on the way to the finale she upset the architect Will...if she would done all that project on her own it would TRIPLE in a cost and only project would cost 1/3 of that amount
