Light modern furniture…no SMEG!😊

We moved to Devon after lockdown seeking a new life in the country. After under a year, we decided to come back to Scotland. We had no idea how much harder it would be finding a place, let alone one with space or a garden, compared with Scotland!

Lovely house, a lot of potential. I see it best served with a rustic modern design, but one that is also cozy, clean and light but not cold and sparse. And build in hidden storage everywhere you can because you will need it. I think the house, being small, should be white but with levels of color in the furniture, trims, and cabinetry with a few mid range neutrals and a couple of dark pieces too. This will add depth and warmth. (I’d personally have blues and greens in the furnishings to offset the cold, damp, gray days of winter) Definitely keep the floor plan open but you can have woodwork that artfully adds a rustic touch with a dividing element yet still being open. The cats were so cute, thanks for including ample footage of them.

Lots of other ways to get "a pop of color" (a really bright backsplash, for example?) Cant wait to see how your home progresses. New Sub here, for sure!!

Having a flowing stream running through your garden is great for the energy ... You might even want to divert it a little to make a small pond-like water feature ... Or even a small water storage system. Caveat: you might also check out the history of that stream when it comes to flooding.

You can “wrap” the fridge if a color pop is something you really want.

Go traditional, it stands the test of time.

The flat or house in Taipei is 3 times higher than the house in the video, depends on the location or equipment in the house the price might be higher.

My hubs and I are looking into going to Scotland to live...he's from Glasgow. We're in Canada. We can't afford anything here. We don't want anything crazy fancy just space for us and our dog. Your place would be a great size for us. And at that price!!! I love the more modern but in the bedroom I always want cozy comfy.

I would use light kitchen in natural woods. This might help to tie in with the exterior,and hide any nicks and dings better than dark. Have you thought about making an outdoor kithen? It seems like a great place to bar-b-q or have a pizza oven or just a patio harth for fall evenings with friends. Then you could move your gatherings outdoors and still be warm while you gaze at the view and listen to the water.

I love Smeg fridges and they are not worth it. And if you are anything like me you will go off the bright pop of colour you chose and want to change it but won’t because it cost so much. If you can afford it though get one where the door are added to look like you kitchen cabinets because fridges really are quite ugly and industrial.
Nice house, lots of potential. That wood decking is going to rot, turn mouldy etc unless you take good care of it and it’ll be slippery when wet. Problems with living in Scotland 😢

I wish people when selling houses would stop putting a line of ugly tile around the middle of the bathroom wall and installing grey carpet. I see it everywhere. If you plan to sell don’t go for grey as a neutral. It is really hard to work into a colour scheme unless the shade is right. Go for creams to browns. It makes the space warmer, bigger and more inviting. And for the love of peace not magnolia.

Paint cardboard, put contact or print out and paste onto cardboard and put on existing fridge the size and colour of a SMEG fridge...may look funny...bit will help you work out if you want it or not.

I know it's been a year, but for anyone looking to buy appliances: don't go for looks or candy colors or anything. Go for performance. Research brands in Consumer Reports. Appliances aren't what they used to be, and you don't want to have to replace them every few years.

I'm all about a light and airy kitchen. I want to be able to see any dirt but also in a smaller space you really want to open it with light. I like things hidden away in an appliance garage to free up counter space. It's nice to have clean counters especially when your kitchen is open to the rest of the room. Get roll out drawers if you can. Not having to get down and dig for stuff is so nice. Can't wait to see it!

White kitchen will not only not go out of fashion, but make the room bigger & lighter, led lights are cool,large America fridges are great, glass splashbacks look good
