You might want to look into fold over elastic for binding knits. I tend to use it more like a bias tape and just overlap the ends where it begins/ends. I used it for the hems/cuffs of a bunch of hoodies and it's the cleanest finish I've done to date.
ОтветитьAll of them are awesome, but that first one also looks TRES CHIC! 😁
ОтветитьLoved them 🤩👏🏻
ОтветитьWhat wire thing? I think I need to go back and watch a previous video…
ОтветитьNow I need to make a wardrobe of overalls.
Ответить**😊 Take note, I figured out your sagging issues, watching you lay out your fabric, the reason why you get sag in the fabric is because you’re laying out the pattern on the cross grain and not along the selvage. So you’re getting the stretch top to bottom and not side to side. You can kind of get away with it with the woven fabric but not knit, hence sag… yup you’re going to need more fabric running along the selvage but there will be no sagging in your finished project 😊
ОтветитьToday I learned I would come up to your shoulder lol. Shout out to all the shorties!
ОтветитьIf you add clear elastics to your binding of the neckline and armholes it will stabilize them so they don’t stretch out!
ОтветитьYou look great in everything you make!
ОтветитьLOTHLORIEN!!!!! That song absolutely rocks! Great work as always!!!!
ОтветитьI can’t find anything with the “wire” reference. Please provide a link. Pretty please
ОтветитьNot "Clown Clothing", PARTY COLORED , It was all the rage in fashion for the 14th century.
ОтветитьAgreed Charlie! Coffee makes chocolate taste more intensely chocolate. Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьYour outfits in this video remind me of 1930s beach pajamas.
ОтветитьHere’s the binding trick that I use. 80% if a usual cotton fabric. 70% if it’s a rayon type of fabric. 90% if it’s a fabric with little stretch like a ponte roma. Good luck.
ОтветитьThe Mettler quilting thread is the only thread my super expensive machine will free motion quilt with. They make a nice thread. And thanks for the fun. Again. Always.
ОтветитьFor reasons, I'm appreciating the ending caption that Newton installed a kitty door in 1665
ОтветитьI'm surprising myself with this statement, but I love the stripey ones best!
Also, the snake fabric is just perfectly fun!
These are adorable but I would’ve called them rompers rather than overalls.
ОтветитьI made some "jammeralls" like that and had some baggy ness under the arms, what i did was gathered about 4 inches and tucked into binding! 😀
ОтветитьLove all of them, but the striped one is my favorite.
ОтветитьI love them. I haven't made clothing before and really really want to make them.
Ответитьas soon as i saw the snake material, immediately thought "xmas snake overalls!"
maybe matching scrunchies?
Matt is a good man right there lol, I think mine would do that too 🤣🤣
ОтветитьDo you have a recommended video on shoulders or under arm sizing that you think has good instructions? I am TERRIBLE at and find arm holes really tricky.
ОтветитьPlease do a puff sleeve video !
ОтветитьTip on binding with knit. Multiply the length of what you want to bind by 0.8 or 0.9. Works like a charm.
Ответитьthe pile of fabric everywhere just reminded me of how I put away some bags the other day and just found... a bag with ... fabric I forgot I bought...
oops.
Can't wait to see the eventual version 3 that you'll probably make of these 😂
Soooo, anyone ever tried hand sewing with the stretchy thread?
ОтветитьOh ma gerd those snake overalls are LIFE! Love them all, but the snakes are the best, Well done,
ОтветитьI absolutely love those overalls. Thanks for the video
ОтветитьThe stripe fabric made me wonder if you could somehow adapt the stripe pleat dress idea into overalls? That could be cute!
ОтветитьHow rude that life keeps getting in the way of.... life. LOL Love them all, but the solid colour one is stunning. If it wasn't for the big pockets you could wear it out as an informal formal dress. No-one would know it was pants until you walked.
ОтветитьCan u see it from the front?
ОтветитьFloor length = skirts and dresses
Ankle length = pants
That's funny you had to clean your machine while watching this because I just had to clean my serger this morning
ОтветитьRipley's believe it or knit
ОтветитьSeraflex and miraflex do have about 65% stretch to them. Both bobbin and top thread need to be this tread and the tension only need to be as tight as necessary for both sewing and bobbin winding. It doesn't feel stretchy perhaps when pulled, but it really does make a difference. I refused to sew knits because I hated the bunching until I got some seraflex. I really feel it makes a difference. Especially with lingerie.
ОтветитьThank you for mentioning the crotch curve! I was just about to make my first pair of shorts for a cosplay without a pattern last weekend. I went and grabbed some wire, bent it around me, and then trace it. Worked like magic! I had no fit issues down there in my mock up.
ОтветитьYou sing beautifully
ОтветитьI love these! I'm short/petite and while I like the ease of a romper, they don't sit very proportional on me. I must now set all other projects aside to make these! 😂
ОтветитьAll three so cute! And the solid one was my favorite as well!
ОтветитьI made a really similar thing for a cosplay that I based of a kigurumi, and I absolutely love it and want to make one to actually wear. Perhaps with a pattern that is a little less "just keep cutting the neck until I can get it over my hips"
ОтветитьFun video, Charlie, thanks.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing so much (joyful :-D) fotage of the final products. It's greatly appreciated 👍
And thank you for not letting perfection stand in way of your wonderful creations 💪
And thank you for making me want to approach my never ever touched sewing machine 🌻🌻🌻
I'll be back 😉
Omg! The puppy cameo with the thrive products at the end was sooo awesome ...liking lips...lol!!!
