Great video lol
ОтветитьSend the old crush collar fuck it
ОтветитьWell done!
ОтветитьUse a Ratech Smart Sleeve or a solid spacer with shims and make your life easier. The only dopes that still use factory type crush sleeves are the cheap bastids lol...
ОтветитьI mean they both have their pros and cons. I prefer to use a crush sleeve eliminator. I just find it easier to get the preload i want. It's just a preference though.
ОтветитьGood video, with a great explanation pointing out myths and misconceptions.
ОтветитьHey question so tightened my nut and got 22 inches on the torque specs were 14-19. i backed up very little and now sit at 18 . You seem very knowledgeable and debating if I need to replace the crush bearing.
ОтветитьLol you have explained in few mins all critical parts greatful thanks loads
ОтветитьTell me about cleanliness and organization.
Ответить👍
ОтветитьPinion shims are definitely not a rocket science new invention, hell Dana has been using full length pinions and shims since the beginning of time on many diffs. crush sleeves are quicker for the guy who has done them, for the new guy, it's kinda intimidating to crush one the first time. Although from a maintenance stand point, with shims you can replace the seal and or yoke without worry of changing preload, so that's a bonus.
ОтветитьMakes sense. Shimming just makes it easier for a guy to get preload right on the stands in his driveway. I was kinda wondering how you get carrier preload set
ОтветитьThanks,I get tire of hearing all the wonder mechanic’s out there acting like they’re reinventing the wheel.
ОтветитьNice vidéo !!!
Only drawback of crush sleeve is you need some expérience to avoid overtighting.
Impact gun VS wrench to torque pinon bolt what you recommand ?
Dude i would give 1st born away just to be in your circle of close friends ive watched and learned from other classes of proper and improper repairs. I understand not wantn to give away trade secrets because i am an industrial electrical tradesman. I am an idiot rookie working with my truck. I overtightened the damn preload and now im payin the price for letn a already tuff job get the best of me and overlooking a very important step. I let yal just how much that cost was when i take back down and see what kinda cluster fuck i created inside housing. The lesson taught the hard way on me and learned so far. DO NOT OVERLOOK AND OVERTIGHTEN PRELOAD ON PINION SET UP!!!!
Ответить40 years in the trade and 20 of them in the performance side of the industry? , one thing I learned, anyone calling anyone else an idiot?
ОтветитьI realize this is an older video, but am just finding it now. Thank you for the reassurance that the tried and proven crush sleeve will get the job done despite overpriced alternatives now on the market. And related to that, do you reuse the ring gear bolts? At $7 each x 12 bolts this seems to be an unnecessary expense since they aren't torque-to-yeild type bolts. Maybe just some loctite?
Ответитьagree a crush sleeve works excellent you just need a inch pound torque o meter to check your bearing preload and your good to go
ОтветитьWas this about crush sleeves or a simpleton's cry for help?
ОтветитьThe worst vid I've ever seen you sir are crap
ОтветитьYeah I agree a crush sleeve is plenty good, they have been in use for a long time and work great. But I must say if that is your shop that you earn a living out of, and I was looking for someone to work on my stuff I would turn around and go somewhere else after looking at your sloppy work table and probably the rest of the shop, that would make me think your work is probably just as sloppy.
ОтветитьMake more videos the commentary was great
Ответитьbeen building diffs for 35 yrs and personally you come across as an asshole with the my knowledge shit.
ОтветитьWhen you say it’s easier,I hope your talking on a-bench I hope.Getting the correct preload in a drive way on your back isn’t a easy thing to do.I would definitely use crush sleeve eliminate if your working on a car car-truck in a drive way.
Ответитьgood stuff.
ОтветитьI need a video on how the pinion shaft is assembled.
