I often wonder what my brothers would do without my Bardic Inspiration to bail them out of difficult conversations, such as these...

The plight of a Bard is a thankless one... I mean, apart from those times people literally throw gold at my feet to thank me for my music.

My Rogue brother seems none too fond of that attention. My Barbarian brother doesn't mind, but he often throws me great distances, for seemingly no reason. He claims he's just helping me across a gap, or up onto a high platform. Oddly, there's typically a bridge or ladder just next to me, though.

Sometimes I can hardly hear my music over the sound of my brothers being slashed, stabbed, and shot. In those cases, I play my flute - or even whistle - to be sure they can hear me loud and clear. They just love it.

When hurling insults at goblins, ogres, and whatnot from a distant, safe place doesn't cut it, I've got Scratch to help. If my brothers are felled, I can send the dog to pick them back up, so I never need to stop playing my songs!

On occasion, I even forget to play "Of Divinity and Sin" at the end of every turn, in every battle. Can you imagine? Ha, ha, haaa! How ridiculous!

Oh... A Bard's life is a stressful one -- and the work is never done. Who would do it, if not me?

It was a deliberately inappropriate question about a sensitive topic in response to Mark prying into explicitly confidential information. But the delivery and script just really don't get that across.
