What is IMAP & How To Enable Gmail IMAP Settings

There is no real good reason the do this change as other mail apps also use the same settings and have no problem, Mailbird is SLOOOOOOW

When I try this with Mac Mail though, and delete the email that was read with Mac Mail,, somehow the Gmail server never gets the message to delete that email, and then it ends up repeatedly going to the MacMail client. It's annoying, and it really bothers me that I can't. get it to work. no matter how much hair I pull out.

Said nothin about encryption.
