My name is Mark Allen Mighell and I'm an orthopedic shoulder and elbow specialist. I've been at Florida Orthopaedic Institute as a physician since September of 2001. My service was at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia. I did an intern year, became a diving medical officer and was stationed at King's Bay, Georgia. So I've always been interested in shoulder and elbow surgery since my first year as an orthopedic surgeon. And the scope of my practice is to treat complex shoulder and elbow problems. Because I love being an orthopedic surgeon and I love doing surgery, working with my hands. I train fellows myself in the field of shoulder and elbow. So they challenged me and I think that keeps me on the cutting edge of what's going on in orthopedic shoulder and elbow surgery. Besides my career the other thing that's very important to me is my family. I have a very supportive wife, three great kids. I'm very proud of my children and I try to be as supportive as I can. I think that being a doctor isn't being a doctor from nine to five it's being a doctor 24/7. I mean, the fact that I can get paid to do what I love is a blessing and life and most people don't have that blessing. So yeah, I really do love what I do.
