I like the way he teaches. Special thanks
ОтветитьYou explained everything to me very clearly. Is English your mother tongue? You sound ausome. But I'm not confident enough to watch videos without subtitles.
And when you drew two wemen wich one was with her tongue out, I thout that they would be gossiping 😅. Sorry if I expressed my thoughts unnaturally. There's a lot I need to learn.
Can I Also Say: i've got a dog?
ОтветитьI am hating you right now (being a non - native English teacher) - but generally speaking I don`t hate you !!!
ОтветитьNow my English level is D2 because of you, kate english,Jack and luke english.
ОтветитьAwesome, I've been teaching English with Grammar in Focus for over 25 years, but it has never been so easy to explain the usage of Stative Verbs and the situations in which it is natural to use some stative verbs in continuous form
ОтветитьFor the McDonald's example, does that mean I usually don't love it, but right now "I'm lovin' it"?
Ответитьnoted. great lesson !!!!
ОтветитьI have a problem or a disease or a fight.....is have here a stative or action verb?
Ответить"I'm having a dog" - "Oh, who's the father?"
ОтветитьWell done
ОтветитьLove You Papa !! Great Teacher 😘💕 I was having some meals --
Ответить"I do having love on it". Not sound bad, right?
ОтветитьWhat about "Every day I'm shuffling" ? ^_^
ОтветитьI am loving your classes
ОтветитьWhat if my mate shows me his new motorbike, and I'm utterly impressed, Can I say, 'Wow, what are you having here?'
ОтветитьIt's just a marketing thing. It's special so it's catchy. Slogans have to be special. If it was I LOVE IT.. it won't be so unique.. that's it !
Also I'm loving it isn't grammatically incorrect.
I'm making 200 dollars an hour and I'm loving it. ( Just an example)
Wow, thanks for the explaining👍 I love all of your lessons❤️
ОтветитьUseful. I am wanting a pizza. Interesting.
ОтветитьI've heard many times: "Are you being serious right now?" Is it correct?
ОтветитьWell its lame that I cannot give 100 likes at once.
ОтветитьYou win because you are 100%? Wow!
ОтветитьEnglish as a whole is based on contradictions, constantly breaking its own rules especially with pronunciation, not to mention it sounds ugly, banal when compared to Italian, Castilian Spanish, French etc.
ОтветитьI definitely like your drawings
ОтветитьHello papa
ОтветитьI still remember how I asked my English teacher: "Are you seeing the presentation?" I thought it was actually okay (?) to say something like that... Like: "Can you see it right now?"
Needless to say that she screamed at me 🤡
(yeah, grammar isn't my thing, so sorry if there are any mistakes 😬)
I'm not loving all that politics going on in my country.
ОтветитьI stumbled across this as a native speaker and found it fascinating. It's one of those things I'd never thought about. The stative verb you can use with -ing which first sprang to my mind when you started to explain was 'to think'. 'What are you thinking about?' or 'I'm was just thinking'.
ОтветитьAre we going to get 'Love is just a stative verb' released on Spotify?
ОтветитьSorry, I can't give you a like today because even though you are right, you should be very careful. You can teach this only to advanced students. Why? I don't think I really need to explain it but it would be like teaching the present simple to a beginner and saying you can use DO or DOES in affirmative sentences (you can but only to enphasise, that's why they teach this at B2 level, otherwise students would always use it saying it is gramatically correct. About McDonalds "I'm loving it" a lot of articles on different magazines, like THINK IN ENGLISH magazine and others, like the Macmillan dictionary in which they wrote about Mc Donalds and Justin Timberlake: Of course, it’s too late, the damage has been done. It’s been nearly six years since Mr Trousersnake and his accomplice Ronald McDonald rode roughshod over decades of cast-iron grammatical certainty, not to mention showing a woeful disregard for the mental health of Raymond Murphy (grammar in use author).
Anyway, people saying things doesn't mean they are correct, like anywayS, which a lot of young people say with an S in lots of tv series, but it is incorrect.
Absolutely useful!!🙂🌻thak you Ali , you re always clear in your lesson😉
ОтветитьI think it's obvious why mcdees uses quote I'm loving it." they're using it because it's just off enough that people are going to remember it. The typical person probably isn't going to get that" I'm loving it"is not really correct English, but it WILL stay in their in their minds because it sounds kind of odd. And don't forget that we can use HAVE in the continuous form when we talk about having a good time because that's an activity verb.
ОтветитьI have a shower (in my flat) vs I am having a shower (I'm bathing). Got it.
ОтветитьHi. Thanks a lot ! great. I'm from France and I heard you say " you compare it to other moments WHERE you didn't feel like..." I've always learnt that we must say ..."expression of time" WHEN,. So what's the rule? Thank you so much for your explanations and videos.
ОтветитьI was in a chat room a few years ago and used a stative verb in the present continuous. Don't remember which now. Anyway an ESL person wrote me "you can't use that verb like that". I explained you do if you want to sound fluent. He wasn't having it. He was one of those annoying chatters that often caused a bit of strife. Oh well, go on sounding like a stiff text book if that's your goal sir.
ОтветитьI'm loving your videos!)
ОтветитьI just found this channel and I am loving it!!!
ОтветитьI moved to another country and I've been asked "how are you liking the country?" I'm not sure if this is correct 🥶
ОтветитьNice explanation. But how is it with the 'im loving it' ? That means they were loving it that particular moment? And in generał they hate it? 😅
ОтветитьSolos queria decirs, quee Venezuela es un pais Narcos, estados fallidos fallados violentos.
ОтветитьA nice blue denim shirt you're wearing! I get distracted 🤤 No, I'm not being stupid or silly but honestly it fits you perfectly! I'm loving it and I'm wanting to have one now! 😇
ОтветитьI'd been wanting a video on this subject.
ОтветитьOther examples of how broken English is nowadays.
1. Using 'more' for short adjectives in comparative sentences: This is more cheap than that.
2. Using 'there's' for plural nouns: There's beers in the fridge.
3. Using flipped grammar in some conditional sentences: If you would have known...
4. Using 'no' to ask tag questions: You live in California, no?
5. Not using adverbs of manner: I didn't say that correct.
Wow.❤️...I m loving your lectures sir..❤️❤️Love and huge respect from India 🙏🙏
ОтветитьThese days to Love requires many more physical actions, not mental things anymore...Languages keep changing as time goes on...
ОтветитьVery important lesson 👌
ОтветитьAs a C2 I keep coming to your videos because you always have something new to teach me, or remind me of basic lessons that I probably forgot about, so I'm thanking you for that 🌻
ОтветитьI´m really loving the way you teach everyone
