2025 Honda Civic Si | Even Better, Still Manual

Too heavy, and not enough power.

Unless you can PERMANENTLY turn off the automatic braking and lane keep assist safety nannies, I have zero interest. Enthusiast cars should not have features that take control away from the driver, especially systems that are not totally reliable. In the hands of good drivers, they actually make driving MORE dangerous.

I honestly prefer the seats in the si compared to those in the type R

Why does this and the type-r delete the fog lights for 2025?

That e-brake makes me irrationally angry!

I currently drive a 2016 Cooper S. Im in the market for a new car and I want something more reliable, but still has the type of FWD fun my mini has, would this be a good buy for me?

Here in Canada, a Civic Si 2025 cost $39k + taxes, that means $45k for a civic, sorry but that's far from affordable.

I think I'd rather have a manual Mazda 3. Naturally aspirated reliability, no oil dilution issues, nicer interior, suspension set up better for a daily driver. Same-ish torque but the Mazda feels gruntier and more immediate because there's no turbo lag. I do really appreciate the Civic Si though. I wouldn't mind owning one

Manual gearbox is sporty of 1990s. Today, sporty is a fast planetary or DCT.

I'm sure you could mod this to make it faster if you care!

When you guys say “no more manual transmission option in the market” you mean the us market, right? Or am I missing something here?

I've read that the 12th generation SI is going to get a significant increase in power.

2012 honda civic si, 191k miles and counting. So far: water pump, spark plugs + headgaskets, and routine maintenance is about 6k over the lifetime of the car

The wrx is also a standard still.

In the UK we only get the Hybrid and Type R Civic, and the base hybrid is ~$36000 over here. What the hell

How does the SI compare to the Mazda3 H/B with manual transmission in the following categories...
Fun to drive?
Gearbox and clutch?
Comfort?
Interior cabin noise? (NVH)
Steering?
And anything else you might have to contribute.
Does the SI have any cylinder deactivation or start/stop annoyances?
I might be willing to trade my 2023 Mazda3 H/B manual for it...??

It was kinda weird that I was keeping up with one of these the other day on the highway in my 100% stock MK7 Golf 1.8 tsi. I honestly thought they would have better straight line speed. Guess I’ll look at the MK8 GTI as a next car and skip this option.

Today, I went on a test drive at the dealer.

I was deeply disappointed.
When I got into the cabin, I immediately noticed a strong smell of cheap plastic. The engine sound was awful, the steering felt lifeless, and there was little space in the back for passengers. When I sat behind myself, my head was touching the ceiling. This car is so beautifully advertised, but once you go for a test drive, you'll be disappointed.

Honda needs to package this drivetrain into a 2 seater CRX or del Sol type Civic

Why does everyone rave about the fuel economy but glaze past the part where it requires 93 octane? Basically means your paying the same as a 20mpg regular gas vehicle

Just sent my JETTA TDI 6 M to Valhalla and replaced it with the 2025 SI. Only complaint is the SI shifting in cold weather..

Most small cars are boring appliances. Si is fun to drive. Simple, clean car with Honda reliability and good fuel economy.

My 2008 Civic finally crapped out so I bought a regular Corolla for commuting. I'll treat myself to an Si or GLI at some point but for now I'm ok with my Corolla commuter.

I love the cross over with the straight pipes! I'd love to see more cross overs (and i don't mean the car type lol)

I'm the first one to swap the new cluster into the 22-24 Si. Modded pretty well also, pushing 223 hp and 262 lb/ft.

How does it compare to the mazda 3 s premium mannual and the subaru wrx? Those seem to be the only other relatively affordable mannuals.

Exept you can never get one due to each dealer only receiving 2-3 per year unline 200-300 hybrids...... (sad)
