I love your videos man. I'm a pro but I like the way you go over the entire process very thorough
ОтветитьGreat Video! Worked Perfect
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if with this setup will the receptacle always be hot or only when the switch is turned on?? Thanks
ОтветитьIs the outlet always on or does it turn off with the switch
ОтветитьDo you need 14/3 if you're not adding the receptacle?
ОтветитьBest videos and love when you do you go through the breakdowns 👍🏼🫶🏼
ОтветитьExcellent Video!! - Professional, No Nonsense, Easy To Understand - Really appreciate the Recaps !! - I prefer measuring twice and cutting Once lol.. Thank You Sir ! I Subscribed.
ОтветитьThis is a great tutorial. Very easy for an amateur to follow. Learned a lot! Thank
ОтветитьMan…I had to come back to this video again today, because I made the mistake of running 14-2 when I needed 14-3.
So I went to Home Depot an hour ago got some 50 feet of 14-3 and some connecters, so that’s what that so this is what I’m going to be doing tonight.😂
That was great. I love the detail and the recap. Well done.
ОтветитьHow would I do this if the power source was coming from an existing outlet? Would I pull the power from the outlet to the new light, then just end at the switch of do I run it to a switch and then the light? I see your switch has a power in/out cable, and I assume the power is fed from there. Thanks
Ответить@fixthishouse can we put gfci swich instead of regualr outlet you used in this video??
ОтветитьI've got a puzzler for you. (it's puzzling me, you might think it simple) I have one 14/2 coming from the panel, going to a single pole switch, operating a single LED outdoor light. I want to add another switch off the same feed, coming from the first existing box, going to another switch (this one is lighted) for an interior LED light. Same feed, two different switches, two different lights, each operated by one of the switches.
How the heck to wire that one up?
Thanks!
Can you do this the opposite way? Power source to receptacle then light fixture to switch? @fixthishouse
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьI need to do this but I need it the other way around. My box that has the hot coming in, I need that one to have the receptacle and the other one to use the single pole switch. Is this possible, can anybody help?
ОтветитьYou are an incredible teacher. Thank you.
ОтветитьThank you, very helpful video
ОтветитьJust when I think I almost got it I run into something. So the red wire is exclusively for controlling power to lights, while the hot and neutrals pass through to outlets kind of like a J box for constant power. I have a perfect project that I am going to try to tackle. A DIY nightmare in a garage. dual 7 foot flourescent lights. Not "sure" what the previous owner was up to but that lighting just isn't going to fly today. All of it directly ran back to the main panel. Going to scrap all of that and do a 70 Amp sub panel. A 50 and a 20. Going to do one 240v outlet, four duplex 20A outlets, two light pots (LED maybe?), and one external flood light for the alley. The 50A is for welding. Of course I am going to have a pro look it over when I finish my diagram.
ОтветитьYour hands are in the way of what you're talking about.
ОтветитьGot to give you a big thanks for breaking this down so nicely. Been having an issue with some 1950s wiring. Love the recap because it prevents me from having to rewind. Also, you made it very clear to me that I'm more of a visual hands on person. Watched several other videos before yours and they only used vitural diagrams. They were helpful in showing the flow of current but showing the application made my issue very clear. Thanks again.
ОтветитьThis instructional video saved my a$$. I am a drywall guy not an electrician and it didn't seem too complicated to move hall light before I cut the wiring. However, it was like looking at a book written in a different language when I went to hook everything back up again. I got it back in order first try, no blown breakers and life is good again. I even learned something in the process-win win.
ОтветитьReally good videos! Thank you!
Ответитьhave anything on Recessed lighting , im redoing my basement on a house we are buying and going to put in some flush mounted recessed lighting and a dimmer switch, soon .. and well be redoing some two knob wiring in the basement as well, just to update that old wiring ....
ОтветитьI needed this. Redoing the wiring and outlets in the bedroom and I added in a smart switch but couldn't figure out how to wire everything ( smart switch, outlets and lights) off the light switch. Subbed and saved this video
ОтветитьAwesome video! I am hooked and I subscribe. Was wondering if you want to add more lights before the outlet you continue connecting with 14-3 until the last light and use 14-2 to get to the outlet .Thanks
ОтветитьI love this video, but is a little confusing for me I will review it step by step. In my case. I want to bring Light to my closets from a near outlet.
ОтветитьThis is exactly what I needed. Thank you for the clear and concise instructions. Well done!
ОтветитьCan I use the unused red wire from ceiling fan as a power supply for newly installed recessed lighting
ОтветитьBro great video. Thank you
ОтветитьI ran into this problem recently and your video helped save the day. Thank you so much for your content 😊
ОтветитьI did in my house thanks a million buddy
ОтветитьNow this is how to teach. Great work. Can't thank you enough..
ОтветитьExcellent instructions, love the review.
ОтветитьCould the 14/3 wire be 14/2 as well? If so, how would you connect them then?
ОтветитьNice explanation …❤😊
ОтветитьExcellent videos! You are a natural born teacher - they 1) Tell you what they are going to tell you in a very simple manner, then 2) Tell you in a plain spoken manner, and then 3) Tell you what they just told you - never stop with your simple explanations of recapping like this at least 3 times since it is essential for learning!
ОтветитьNice tutorials with recap
ОтветитьYou’re a great teacher, thank you.
ОтветитьI for one like the recaps, thank you.
Ответитьi think this is one of the best videos i’ve seen for beginners like my self 😂 thx bro now I think I should be able to make my ceiling lights work
ОтветитьThanks bro I appreciate it only halfway through the video and already got it down
Ответитьget your hands out of the way so we can see!!!
ОтветитьThank you for this very informative video. I like how you go over in a very descriptive way. Appreciate this thank you!
Ответитьthanks for this , your the best!
ОтветитьThanks for this video! If you already have one and I missed it, sorry, but I didn't see a video explaining wiring multiple light sockets to a single switch in the electrical section. This was great though!
ОтветитьWhile this circuit is feasible, and may be a great specialty solution for some, the better rule-of-thumb is to use 15A circuits for lighting, installing 12/2 and 20A receptacles. This allows the circuits to be best prepared for running multiple heavy amperage draw devices (heater, vacuum, fan) at the same time.
