seen the movie on thursday great movie i loved it.
ОтветитьI think Katniss is Lucy Gray's grandaughter. Suzanne Collins wouldn't have put those hints in the ballad of songbirds and snakes for nothing. She was definetly trying to tell us something
ОтветитьI long for the time when we’ll be rising against the 1% marching on the streets singing this song
ОтветитьI have a suggestion : Suzanne Collins should make this book series a series, like Hercule Poirot where evry Hunger Games has its own book. I would read all of it!
ОтветитьThey always say there’s nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose
Now imagine a whole country
Coriolanus became Snow after receiving Lucy Gray's distrust. She was the last person who anchored him to his true vulnerable self capable of loving, making 'stupid', not intelligent choices but not to survive, to live. He reached for the sky towards power, status amd greatness and ultimately a part of him was overpowered and indoctrinated by the propaganda , the beliefs about what it takes to survive in an arena-like world by people of authority, like Gaul and his own father. He buried the part of him that loved Lucy Gray or anyone at all deep inside his conscience. So when Katniss stepped into the hunger games , and looked in the eye of the system , and challenged the need for a single victor by trying to swallow nightlock both herself and peeta, it wasnt the rebellion the districts that bothered him much as the rebellion stirred in him, the one he couldve been, Tigris's Coryo, not Snow , the one who he had stashed deep into a mindscape, irretrievable . Katniss didn't challenge Coriolanus. She challenged the man he went on to become. Snow. The man that murdered three. Advertently inadvertently. I feel sad. Maybe things wouldve worked out in a different way if really Lucy and Coriolanus had met under different circumstances. Maybe she could show him how he can't have everything at once. And how he can be happy with one or without another. Maybe he wouldve turned out to be a different man if Lucy stayed by him. Or who knows, perhaps she'd be the 4th person to be killed by him. A person who nearly challenged his value system. Unfortunately couldn't break through the walls. Katniss didnt either. But she broke him. In front of his own damn eyes
Ответитьthis reminds me of palestine vs isreal >.>
ОтветитьIf you notice, before she starts to sing, the jaybirds hum the song before started. Could range off a few theories.
ОтветитьWho is the third person Snow killed ????
Ответитьi was like 10 years old when i watched this in cinemas so i don’t remember it very well. i wish i could watch this in the cinema for the first time again
ОтветитьWhen I rewatched this with my mom, this scene started and she looked at me and said “you can only oppress people for so long”. Idk why, but it’s kind of always stuck with me
ОтветитьWhen everyone starts singing and goes to the dam to blow it up, it always makes me cry like a baby 🥺 they knew that the possibility of them dying was on the line but they didn’t care. They were willing to die for their cause and that’s so beautiful in a way. Willing to risk their life so the districts could finally be free. & when all the people climbed in the trees to kill the peacekeepers. They did the same exact thing. They seen everyone getting shot but they didn’t care. The just wanted to get the job done because they believed in their cause so much and had so much faith that one day everyone could be free. It’s heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.
ОтветитьI think the guy who asked her to sing is so adorable 🥹 (I forgot his name) he was one of my favs
ever since i’ve watched mockingjay the hanging tree is stuck in my headd
ОтветитьThis song reminds me of the Palestinian suffering
ОтветитьBirds and songs have always been tools of resistance. May the Palestine sunbird soar once more, and soon.
ОтветитьYou know who the real tyrants of today are? The corporations and the business owners who prevent the permanent liberation of workers. This world belongs to the working class. Only the working class has the right to govern this world.
Ответить"It isn't a song. It is a lifestyle."
ОтветитьThis scene is probably my favorite scene ever. It sends chills through my body every time I watch it(even though i’ve seen it dozens of times).
ОтветитьAll these years. This song still makes me cry 😢
ОтветитьYeah good tune for all Arab nations should play for Gaza
Ответитьthis go side by side with what's happening right now, gave me the chills.
ОтветитьThe song was for snow and then became a song for the rebels ( against snow)
ОтветитьWhen the choir starts it's wonderful
ОтветитьThinking about how Snow felt about mockingjays in Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes vs. Gale's comment "now they'll never shut up"....
ОтветитьThis was the lake where snow and lucy swims. Almost boundary of district 12-13
Ответитьone of the most powerful scenes of the franchise.
ОтветитьThe moral of this story is that we must lead ourselves and use the good virtues to govern ourselves
Ответить“The Hanging Tree” - A song by Lucy Gray.
The girl who came so close to stopping the rise of the monster we know as President Snow. The girl who managed to escape his grasp, and would continue to haunt him for the rest of his life. 60 some odd years later, it’s only fitting that her song would serve as the anthem for the second rebellion.
Though her name may have fell through the cracks of Panem’s history, the spirit of Lucy Gray is very much alive; inside Katniss, and in the hearts of all those who sing her song. Lucy Gray may have escaped his grasp, but in the face of the second rebellion, with her song as its anthem, Coriolanus Snow cannot escape Lucy Gray. After 75 years of carnage, the time has come for Snow to fall.
Who else had this song popping into their heads when the new movie just came out?
This is crazy haunting. Even more after knowing the history behind this song. Lucy Gray made this song and this song became the revolution song to take snow down.
ОтветитьIf you really think abt it shes not really sining the hanging tree bc its not wear a necklace of hope its a necklace of rope still amazing scene and performance
ОтветитьIt’s so sad that the song was used against snow to try to take him down, to help the districts join and start to take down the capitol, but it was written by someone who loved him and suffered because of him. Imagine being snow and hearing this, your enemies using a song that the one you loved who tried to kill you wrote and sung.
ОтветитьThe mass of despwrate but determined people who had nothing to lose did more in one action then any group of peackeepers could hope to do
ОтветитьThis scene shows us that at the end of the say we as humans created in gods image we can only see these horrific events and live our daily lives among the horror that there is a point that we must take action and we understand that our lives are here to futher a greater cause in our liftime. And I would like to thank any curently or veterns who are or did serve us and defended us
ОтветитьSir they've . . . started to sing
ОтветитьNot gonna lie Snow reminds me a lot of the Netflix series character Miguel Felix Gallardo. Both have such smart and ambitious minds only to be swallowed up by greed and forget what’s most important.
ОтветитьMan I need to rewatch this
ОтветитьAfter reading/watching Balled, this song has a whole new meaning to me
ОтветитьSo grateful for this song. Because of it now when my country has started a horrible war I can feel that I'm not the only one who sees all the terror, not only one who wants to revolt
ОтветитьThats the sound of snow falling ❄️🥀
ОтветитьWhatever happened to Lucy Gray?
ОтветитьThis song, written by a young girl many years ago, was actually the beginning of a revolution...
Ответитьone of the most powerful moments of Mockingjay pt 1
Ответитьwhen was this ? i don’t remember it
ОтветитьI like it much more the way Jennifer Lawrence sings it. Her voice is superior.
ОтветитьI loved Coriolanus because no wonder he is pissed but Lucy gray he would be so proud
ОтветитьLucy Gray sang it so well🥰
