What will happen to the money that distrokid owe you will that money will taken to new distribution service...?

Certainly, none has any obligation to pay for not having any service back and in your description the company behaves like an extortioner.

If such cases take place and repeat then, say, the publisher can be bribed by another party to eliminate you as a successful artist and as competitor to another one. This definitely violates the principle of free market economy and any lawyer will have sufficient reasons to help you to get the most detailed explanation of the rejection from the company/publisher. If they cannot, they lose the case and you win.

I had some cases when an account (not music distribution but is one of the greatest world wide company) was blocked without any specific explanation but after years I managed to restore it by just keep sending my arguments. All the other cases were won by me and, I hope, will be won by you.

I am not a professional lawyer, but it seems you definitely would win the case and has reasons to sue the company (unless it is in your Agreement with them to afford them to alienate your products any time without any specific explanation). Imagine certain artist so talented that his revenue rises each year by 1000% and publisher wants to have it all. It will have all your revenue by unjustified "rejection" plus it charges customer (the content creator) for the service it does not provides for him. That is juridically a nonsense.

This makes zero sense and basically confirmed I won't be renewing with them. The EP I put out, being honest, has pretty crap production but that counts as high enough quality? There doesn't seem to be any consistency. I remixed/remastered the EP to the point that I'm much happier with it, but I definitely won't be renewing with Distrokid to release it.

I was going to start with Distrokid today, after this video they can go to hell, hope they go bankrupt.

They sent me the same exact same canned responses after they just stopped publishing my tracks. My tracks are still up, still earning money. The website goes through the motions of paying me, but they never do. Still lists as paid. Triple checked everything pertinent. Before they locked me out of stats, I had about 100k plays total. They suck so hard.

Can you explain how to make the move form Distrokid to another distributor? Or can anyone help me find out how to do it? Thank you!

Im wanting to leave distrokid, have you made a video on your exact process on switching while preserving stream counts etc? If not would be great to see

It was one of my first questions: If I stopped paying yearly subscription, will the music stay up?  I researched and it was written they will take it down. I thought wow that’s really cold and decided to go with another distributor. I’m surprised you didn’t ask that, but I think you were assuming that was what the Legacy option was for.

But it was because your songs sound like copies of songs that are already out there. Some people do this to follow what works and already has been successful. I'm not a fan of it, and evidently neither was someone who they distributed to. I'm not sure it was personal from them to you, as it was them respecting the wishes of their clients who accept many of their other artists’ music.

So it seems like, at this moment at least, the leave a legacy fee states "DistroKid will never delete this album, even if you cancel your account or your credit card is declined." - so maybe this video helped change that? Or maybe they are just saying this to say it lol
