Is The Honda Super Cub The World's BEST Scooter?

They call it scooter ...well in Greece we call all of these "ducks" ...scooters are no-geared motorcycles :P

I think it needs more power (11kw) longer travel suspension, manual clutch and bigger tyres, bigger tank. CT125 is not available in UK. The reason for auto clutch was to carry food with the left hand, but thats not allowed.

I think the Cub sits on a line where it's a "scooter" and a "motorcycle" at the same time (Could we call it a "crossover", LOL). Very cool concept when new, and it's STILL relevant today.

The Honda Wave costs half as much on Asia per exchange rates. As far as I know it’s the same motorcycle except for the retro body work that not everyone like.
It’s too bad United States can’t get the normal one.
We only get the retro model. I’d rather have the affordable modern version. It looks better IMO

Supercub is not scooter

You can absolutely take this across the country. People take 50 cc scooters from Alaska to Argentina.. Or what about from Singapore to Portugal? Just bought a long seat for it. So much more comfortable! My son and I are taking it camping next weekend.

You're getting it wrong a bit. For a start it's not really a scooter. Scooters have flat bits to put your feet on. This is an underbone motorcycle. Secondly it's just another crap 125, not a patch on the original Cubs.

The Super Cub is absolutely not the world's best scooter. Because it isn't a scooter. Great small motorcycle though. Love mine and it is great for running around town

i got my first cub 50 in 1968 at 16 and over the years had several since all of them end up being nicked and raced round fields ..i have just bought a super cub ,all i can say it no were as good as the original .has all the whistles and bells but it weighs a cowing ton ,i can ride it ok but with no side stand i cannt get off it,s so heavy i cant put it back on its centre stand when I,m on it,Now i have to wait a month till a kick stand comes from Bangkok why the fu**k they couldn,t put one on as a stock item .they did the same with the gold wing i had a Plain Jane 1000 back in 75 and loved it look at them now a 2 wheeled car

100mpg is a really low estimate. Mine gets 140ish mpg if I’m at or near full speed for most the trip. 180ish mpg with 45 to 50 average speed.

It's a motorcycle, not a scooter. Some call these underbones, some call them step-throughs, either way, they're motorcycles. You keep calling it a scooter. You notice how operating it is similar to operating a motorcycle, besides the lack of a clutch lever? These are motorcycles.

Super Cubs have never been scooters. Full size wheels, a frame mounted (as opposed to swingarm) engine, and a transmission with gears. It's a motorcycle. Always has been. and 60mph and a 100+mile range is plenty to do distance. And it's comfortable enough too. That said, I like the rest of the review!
