I was 4 or 5 when my mom took us to see this, memories, rip Robin Williams
ОтветитьBrilliant casting! if they were to recreate this I think Jason Statham would be perfect for the role of Popeye.
ОтветитьYou're fucking serious today's!
ОтветитьI’m here because someone came up to me and asked me this exact question…. Do you know who you look like…. I’m like no, who do I look like and this DUDE!!! Said Robbin Williams popeye.. and I said should that be a compliment or a diss? Because I’ve NEVER seen this EVER!! Now I see why he said it. NO HOMO. Holy crap!!!
ОтветитьThat baby is over 40 years old now.
ОтветитьOne of Disney's best.

ОтветитьPopeyes chicken
ОтветитьHow did robin not come home every evening with a massive headache after having one eye closed alll day.
ОтветитьAfter laughing out loud at the sight of a red masted goose boat (?) 10 minutes into live-action ONE PIECE, I recalled a movie I watched as a kid, about a sailor who's X gene is triggered every time he eats his spinach.
ОтветитьThis is before movie trailers became an art form.

I love that this movie was filmed in Malta. Part of my family was born there. A beautiful place to vosit
ОтветитьPopeye movie robin Williams
ОтветитьMy parents had this movie on VHS when I was a kid, so I watched it ALL the time as well has other VHS movies that were popeye cartoon compilations. I just finished this movie right now as an adult, and it’s so WEIRD. Popeye is looking for his dad, Olive Oyl is a finicky uptight lady set to marry Bluto, there’s a comically stereotypical Jew who lives with them, WIMPY TAKEAS A CHILD TO HORSE RACES RIGHT NEXT TO A BROTHEL AND THEN COMMITS CHILD ABDUCTION IN EXCHANGE FOR HAMBURGERS, popeye hates spinach his dads greatest treasures are mementos from when popeye was a kid. Whole thing is a fever dream but the casting is solid and it has high nostalgia value
Ответить😂 I remember Popeye movie 1980 Robin Williams very good actor he played excellent Popeye characters he was so funny a lot , the fight was funny just like the cartoon animation, the Popeye voice sound was very good the movie fun to watching + I love the cast
ОтветитьRobin was brilliant
ОтветитьWhy do ppl say this movie flopped. Ive only seen bits of it in the 80s
ОтветитьOle Popeye, still love that ole sailor.
Ответитьlinda hunt sent me
ОтветитьAside from the forearm difficulties, Williams did not enjoy working with Altman at all primarily to his rigid unwillingness to allow the comedian to improvise which is the cornerstone of his comedic prowess. This caused Williams to refer to the production as “Stalag Altman”. I think this film was great, but reading about all the problems i was shocked. And Robin having a coke problem as well. Im surprised they even continued making it. Now, after decades it well loved?? Strange how things turn out in the movie biz. ⚓🥫
ОтветитьI haven't seen this movie in a long time, I'm going to watch it again soon, this came out the year i was born
Ответитьman..what a treat!! never knew this film existed.🙋
ОтветитьAfter the shit duvall went through with kubrick that year...she NEEDED a role with robin willaims

ОтветитьApparently the set they made is still up, it just sits abandoned on that island they built it on, you can visit it and everything
ОтветитьRobin Williams is absolutely brilliant in this
ОтветитьFlashbacks are great!
ОтветитьWhen you’re a kid you don’t really pay attention to the credits for the film but I had no idea this was a Robert Altman film till I got older
ОтветитьI remember seeing parts of this on TV one night when I was about 5. Never left my mind which I think is a sign of how unique it was. One of the only TV memories I have living at that particular house, along with the original Superman cartoons on VHS.
ОтветитьReminds me of Rocky
ОтветитьBro only does forearm workouts
ОтветитьMy favorite thing about Popeye is his little mumbling voice he does sometimes and Robin nailed it perfectly 😂
ОтветитьHorrible movie
ОтветитьThis is the strangest thing I have seen in a very long time. Pure weird.
ОтветитьMan I was 4yrs old when this came out.
My mother and aunts took my cousins and I to see it and I remember scenes from the movie as if I was seeing them in real time 1980.
When my mother told me that “Mork” from “Mork and Mindy” was Popeye in the movie I was like 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Looks fucking hilarious. One day I will make s psychedelic cinema and this will be shown at some stage for sure
ОтветитьPopeye is a loser
