How much play is normal in the sway bar links. I get that sound, and the sway bar link ends move well, not stiff, but there seems to be no clicking in any of those parts
ОтветитьI have a 2004 monte Carlo ss that has new suspension parts and brakes motor mounts transmission mount and I feel knocks in brake pedal while braking lightly even in steering wheel and feels like a wheel locks up some and abs and traction light comes on. I replaced all suspension parts and no hope.

ОтветитьGet ALL my parts from Auto-Doc because they have NEVER been the wrong parts and had the parts in good time. My girlfriend was told by a Garage to CHANGE ONLY the Right side [Suspension] @ £210 UNTIL i told her about Auto-Doc which sells BOTH Sides at £120 So she downloaded the APP, And took it to the Garage which they changed their tune and said NO it;s for BOTH Sides [AFTER she had shown Auto-Docs Prices].
ОтветитьWhat causes my steering to make a noise everytime I start up the car when the engines cool and when the engine running for a few mins the noise stops and the noise sounds like a bad steering pump but there's no leakage or whatsoever

ОтветитьIts taken over 3 years and 6 mechanics to find the handling and noises issues on my mk 7 transit motorhome. top strut failure and a torn left hand wishbone mount. Why its taken that time and the amount of mechanics, none have been bothered to do the full check as most are only interested in MOT checks nowadays and its a nightmare to check the top struts in mk 7 transits.

ОтветитьI changed the left tie rods of my Volkswagen Up 2013 about 2 months ago but now the cracking rumor has increased again. Now the rumor is in upper part of the suspension. Don't know what to do, any advice? Do I need to change the shock absorbers, tie rods again?

You can barely hear the noise to look out for in orderto identify certain problems because of the music in the background. You make great video but the music in the background is unnecessary.
And steering rack ...

ОтветитьA couple of additional comments. When it comes to front end parts like tie rods and ball joints, you typically won't hear or feel anything when they start to go bad, even it there's some play. These are two of the worst things that can break on a vehicle when you're driving. They need to be checked on a regular basis even if there are no drivability issues. Also, your method of checking the ball joints isn't quite right. When a ball joint starts to go bad, the play is up and down. You check by jacking the car up and getting the wheels a few inches off the ground. You then put a pry bar under the tires and pry upwards. In the video, you put the pry bar in between the ball joint and control arm, and pulled down. You have to go the other way because the springs are already putting a great deal of downward force on the ball joint. Going upward relieves the tension and allows you to see the play. If the ball joint gets to be so bad to where you can see the play by just putting your hands on the wheel and move it without the help of a pry bar, it should have already broken.
I'm going into a lot of detail here because when a ball joint or tie rod actually breaks, you instantly lose both your steering and brakes. You have absolutely no control over the vehicle.
I had a knocking sound when going over bumps or moving slowing and turning into and out of a parking bay. The fault found by the dealership was front subframe bolts where not torqued to spec. This is a brand new vehicle, after 3 months. What would you make of this? Is this a factory fault?
ОтветитьSc otty Kilmer says the AT-205 Re-Seal will greatly reduce the number of suspension mounts needing replacing if you use it regularly. Stopped the front suspension on my 2002 Silverado from squeaking so much.

ОтветитьAnswer this, I've had a loud Creek and my front suspension for 3 years 99 Ford ranger it's been in three different shops they've replaced upper control arms lower control arms all the ball joints sway bar bushings sway bar links rear shocks front shocks all new brakes and yet nobody can figure out why this truck makes a loud creek after you come to a stop the excuses always it's the brakes it's the brakes well the brake pedals all the way down when you come to a stop You're not pumping the break the brake pedal is all the way down brake pedal is not moving and still when the truck rocks back it goes CREEEAAAK. TWO OF THE BEST SUSPENSION SHOPS IN THIS CITY OF 200,000 PEOPLE THAT I LIVE IN CANNOT FIGURE IT OUT

Ответитьive changed the axels, sway bar links, control arms, struts and strut mounts. ( im on the second struts and 3rd strut mounts form the dealer) Still crackling, rusty and grinding noise coming from the front end as i go over small bumps. Its like something is dried up. When the strut mount has been replaced it would stop then start again in a few months. Stop doing it when its muggy out, then start again when its sunny. its been like this since 2018. everything i mentioned has been replaced within the past 6 months. Still hasnt gone away.
