playing this after forza and beamng i can say that the cars are very unpredictable(im playing on xbox one controller with vibrations on and i cant predict if a car is going to slide or grip on the road)

TDU 2, Dirt 2 and 3, F1 2010 - 2013, I just feel like these were the best racing games ever made. When I play some of the above mentioned games, I instantley feel like a 12year-old again on a cold winter morning at my parent's house. thanks for the nostalgia trip, I am booting up my PS3 again to play this Gem :)

TDU 2 belongs to the category of the best racing games of all time, it wasn't made by a AAA company, that's why is the game itself is such a great experience. You were able to do so many things, racing in championships, going to cardealers, buying houses, doing missions, searching for wrecks and making a huge roadtrip, the driving physics are the only downside of the game, but if you're on pc you can download a physics mod for the game. The atmosphere of that you are on a tropical island and you are a valet driver, dreaming of driving an expensive car, fortunately Tess Wintory anounces Solar Crown, a racing competition about 8 drivers on the island and one of the drivers withdraws due to an accident so your dreams becomes true because you are the new driver of Solar Crown and as you level up and winning the championships, you will be able to get your hands on expensive, luxurious cars.
Oh and fun fact: the game was made by Atari who made home consoles in the 70s/80s

Test Drive Unlimited truly is an experience like no other racing game. It makes you feel like every second of everything you do in the game enhances said experience. You also get a real feel for ownership and completion. You have to get a Class license to enter championships and once you finish a championship, you have the money to buy the house of your dreams as well as the cars of your dreams to showcase in your home. Aficionado life at its finest.

There wasn't a single car in the game that I purchased and was disappointed by, not a single one. Every car somehow felt unique, sounded unique, had their own stylized speedometer gauge, intricately detailed interiors.

Don't even get me started on the map and it's exploration. Easily the best part of the game is the extremely large maps.

The atmosphere, the 2000's style EDM radio, the dealerships, the houses, everything felt authentic.

12 years later, here after finishing Nijigasaki Season 3 NEXT SKY OVA, TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED 2 still considered by so many people as the true peak open world racing game despite had flaws and Metacritic Reviews only rate this game 70.

Yeah I’m 12 minutes in and I need to order a new copy. This game just had so many things none others have even to this day.

When I see this video is 4 times the length of the horizons videos I know it’s gonna be good. This game laid the groundwork for most of the primary mechanics of any free roam game like forza horizon. I think I’ll have to order another copy and play through again.

Been playing this for about a week now, after watching a few reviews including this. Just finished the A6 championship (should rename it as H6 for Hills instead...) and will probably do the Ibiza cup this weekend. Also got absolutely wrecked over the off-road stuff with the trap that is the Hummer H3.

Thanks, Moses. i got interested, acquired the game, solved a few technical issues, and it runs fine now, and I'm quite happy with the game. However, there's one bug that's particularly irritating. My game freezes after I change active application via alt+tab. Is there any solution to that?

Wow the presentation in this old game is way better than the last 3 Horizon. Now that Horizon has became disappointing, looking forward to the new Test Drive in 2023.

I miss playing this game back when i had my ps3 (6 or so years ago). I had tons of fun an by the time i stopped playing i had a lot of expensive cars and homes

You probably would lol but I am still playing it from time to time. And you would laugh even more here - I completed NONE races in game. I don't know what it works in context of reaching game goals and stuff. But what I know for 101% sure that spent hundreds of hours just roaming around the islands. Just grabbed someone's savegame file with full coverage and enjoyed. Many of cars I went to buy again and again just for experiencing those feelings in showrooms.

How have i not seen this for a year, i remember randomly getting TDU1 and finding out the second one is coming a few months after that. Everything about the game except physics is just so good. I loved going through the huge detailed islands, all the interiors etc. The only similar experience since those games is forza horizon but i dont like comparing these games because its just not the same. Horizon feels like TDU for permazoomers, it can be lots of fun but you cant really get immersed in that.

Solar crown sounds nice but i think just modding a "few" things into BeamNG could easily remake the TDU experience with almost perfect physics

TDU 1 was the game that blew my mind like TDU 2 has done for you. It was 4/5 years after it’s initial release before I got a PC good enough to play TDU1.
I mis say that 2s story really annoyed me amd put me off a bit (these rich characters were a bit too exagerated for me), but the reason I never got to Oahu was because of things happening in my life, not because I didn’t want to. I played this game first on PS3, because my PC could not run it. These games always seemed to be 5 steps ahead of thr hardware I had growing up :)

I remember this game captured me right from the get go. Got a gold medal on everything (except the final time trial of the campaign with those jumps that messed up the physics) and although it was challenging, resting to my private yaught ingame was very rewarding afterwards
