Pawn structure dictates how every piece is played...
Ответитьyou are my go to for chess tips!
ОтветитьI was looking for a non-conventional and practical pawn play video for a while till I found this video ❤️
ОтветитьIn the first example, you mention that if black had defended the rook with the bishop, white would need to defend b4 with their bishop before moving the pawn. And when you go to the game, you say "we see a position as if that had happened" because white is defending their pawn even though the bishop move from black is not defending the rook.
I am sure that Levy knows this, but for anyone reading this who may not have caught it, white's pawn still needs to be defended because the knight can absolutely attack in that position. If white's rook attacks black's rook, blacks queen defends and it's just a trade. In which case, the knight moving actually could have created a similar backwards attack on white's rook if the bishop hasn't moved as well.
I love learning chess from Harry Potter. 💖
