Arleigh Burke Class DDG Anti Submarine Warfare in the South China Sea || Cold Waters Surface Combat

USS Roosevelt performed every bit as beautifully as the ship in the "Zipang" anime (JDS Mirai). Maybe it's not the generational tech gap... maybe DDGs with Aegis and a bunch of VLS cells are just that good. 😜

forgive the dumb question. But does the game CW do both surface ships and subs? Or is this a different game?

Good evening. I hope you are doing well. The SQR-19 array at least on my dotmod version which is the most current. Ten knots is the limitation on the cable. How do You go faster without damaging the cable? Once that goes red you can't repair at sea. Thank you.

This is amazing! I was stationed on the USS Curtius Wilbur DDG-54 and to actually play my old ship in this game... blows my mind. My job was using ESM and chaff (anti-ship missile defense).

Hey - what is deal with USN ship design and seeming lightness on guns / weapons compared to the old Soviet designs? Two more phalanx could easily sit to left and right on the one we have on front of the AB? What - more protection bad? Russian CIWS does max barrels and rounds - probably better - def fairs better in DCS sims. Why? Remember the old Spruance class destroyers? Might have been able to track a sub but if a plane or ship came around - call the Air Force? We build these things to WIN A NAVAL WAR - correct?

Heres a thought, the USA should go back into their own waters, stop harassing the world, and reimplement the Woodrow doctrine and worry about the train wreck which is the USA.

As a casual observer interested in this game, seems like subs don't have much tactical advantage in this game and they're detected and taken out really easily. Shouldn't they be at a longer stand off range to use their stealth?

I'd like to see a South China Sea Campaign as an Akula Class. Or even China campaign as the best(quietest SSN) Chinese sub. Also any campaign as an Ohio Class SSGN or the quietest Kilo Class available. Really enjoyed you Foxtrot campaign as well... Trying to think what else could be cool that's available. I think a Ticonderoga could be cool, but as you said really hard to do a good translation of Submarine game to surface combat... Also I feel like as a Surface ship you would constantly be performing RTBs for more ordinance as you can't really hide... Your strategy is more numbers based. Essentially fire enough ordinance to ensure a kill on the enemy before they can ensure a kill on you. Who fires ordinance first and fires the most determines more of who survives than anything else. There are things that can increase odds of survival, but in the end if your enemy fires enough missiles at you eventually one or two will get through and you'll be dead. Subs under the right conditions you'll never even be detected at all and you can take out a whole fleet.

I've had some weird problems with the surface combat in this mod. Things like randomly imploding at the surface after a certain amount of time, even if I'm undamaged.
