ОтветитьChristine, The coachee on this video sounds exactly like the same lady that you interviewed in your podcast on 01 your very first podcast interview. Back in 2015 I think.
ОтветитьWould love more of these kinds of videos where you break down the coaching process.
ОтветитьGreat video! Super helpful! Thank you!

ОтветитьIt is great see how a gifted coaching professional like Christine is able to handle the emotional needs of the coached and, take her into childhood bullying moments and then brings her back to presence and show her how to work those emotions in order not to let then affect her any more in her coaching activities or any other activities. Added value points in the way Ajij explains all parts and what's happening in the entire coaching session.
Ответитьgreat demo!
ОтветитьIn my opinion this was a painful and failed coaching session. First of all, this client is ripened, ready, and agreeing which would make any coach look good on stage. She's a 'yes' girl who tries to avoid conflict and disagreement at all cost even with her own coach. This is truly sad because apart from the sobbing, emotional and tough memories she's willing to share, she really hasn't developed her own independent personality and identity. She's still a little girl trapped in the body of a woman afraid of taking a stance or speaking her mind without fear of repercussions. Secondly, this coach operated at a higher level of energy and dominated the conversation in a way that resembles the bullying she'd experienced as a child. You can clearly see how the client was agreeing and nodding her head 90% of the time without taking enough time to reflect. The coaches energy and quick interjections did not help either. It just put more pressure on the client to 'nod' instead of allowing the information to sink in. The client is probably has a kinesthetic representation system, thus needs time to absorb and FEEL things. The coach is probably a visual person and naturally speaks faster and creates a 'dazzling show' for the audience at the expense of the client. She made little to no effort to create rapport with that client, she even stopped her client abruptly while she was trying to elaborate because the coach operates from a position of "I know it all, I've got you figured out, I'm amazing" without realizing that, to her client, that could resemble the bullying she had experienced as a child.
This client (again, this is just my opinion) might still be crying behind closed doors because she thinks no one will ever understand her. She might continue to carry herself in life and in relationships the way she used to or, as a coping mechanism, could pretend that coaching had benefited her and that now she is an improved version of her older self. I hope she is in a better place today and that she has found a coach or a therapist who has a deeper understanding of her on a core level. Someone who helps her mature and stop being the child that never grew up because she truly seems like an amazing human being and will blossom into something even more beautiful.
Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh here. I just wanted to skip all political correctness and lay it down as it is. Sometimes all we need to hear is the truth, nothing more and nothing less. And I do realize it might not even be the truth. I am just speaking from my perspective and going off of the limited information presented in this video. We all see what we want to see and what we've already learned and experienced in life. There's no wrong or right here, just a different perspective.
Yes!
ОтветитьExtraordinary
ОтветитьI'm excited seeing this video, glad I clicked and already subscribed 💃💃👍🎉
This has been my calling I believe and I'm already doing this through a mentoring program that I started for young people in my country, Nigeria. However, I believe through this coaching program(videos) I'll be able to do more👌👌 I'm definitely following and learning the process of becoming a good Coach.
I'll use this coaching to inspire, heal and restore my community

I’m trying to understand more of what life coaching is, what’s the difference between a life coach and a therapist?

ОтветитьReally appreciate your input very useful information. The coaching session it self was not my cup of tea but it’s good to see other people coach and take away what is useful to you as a coach in your session.
ОтветитьYes, I noticed her response to her client resulted in change.
ОтветитьYes 🙌
ОтветитьFill in the blanks is a great way for clients to walk in their own autonomy

ОтветитьThis is excellent. Thanks!
ОтветитьI felt a sense of Christine rushing this person and not holding enough space for her to reflect. Too many questions way too fast.

ОтветитьThe first thing you learn in coaching is to be an attentive listener - listen more than you speak. However in this case I can see where Christine injected in order to keep the client on track. You always want the client to realize their solution and then you can get to the plan of action. Often it takes much more for the client to reach that aha moment than in this video.
Ответитьyes - Socratic questioning.
