Super helpful! Was trying to determine which shot tracker to get - this really helped me!😊
ОтветитьFirst time viewer! You present very well 👍
Ответитьwhat if you do punch shots regularly? using a 7 iron for punch shot for 130 yards type of thing.
ОтветитьIf I use the Garmin Golf app, but don't have a watch, will the garmin ct10 still send the data to the app? Haven't found a clear answer on that. Love the video!
ОтветитьI got the Garmin S70 and the CT10 starter pack that I use on my wedges and putter since those are the clubs that are least likely to register on the watch. Am I missing something by not getting the CT10 sensors for the other 11 clubs?
ОтветитьArccos is great but I would rather spend £125 a year on lessons than a subscription just got the Shot scope H4 and works really well and the sensors come with the product with no subscription waiting to upload my first round to check the data, but on a budget this is the best option in my opinion
ОтветитьI use the grint app which gives me all the info I need.
Ответить"Less Expensive" not "Cheaper"...
ОтветитьI own a ShotScope H4 and its sensors and decided to 'upgrade' to the Garmin system this golf season. Despite my appreciation for the Garmin watch, I find the sensors to be markedly inferior in comparison to those of ShotScope. The Garmin sensors consistently demand re-tightening or simply dislodge easily falling to the ground during a shot, proving to be a distraction during a round. The design of Garmin sensors appears to be fundamentally flawed, and I am not alone in voicing this grievance.
In essence, the ShotScope stands out as a notably more cost-effective solution, particularly well-suited for golf. Once affixed to the club ends, the ShotScope sensors become inconspicuous. Opting for the Garmin system, with its subpar sensor design, seems justified only if you intend to track a variety of activities in addition to golf. The Garmin system excels in multi-activity tracking, but for dedicated golf enthusiasts, the ShotScope remains a better choice.
BTW, the better comparison would be the ShotScope X5.
Will the Arccos sensors work with the Garmin S62 watch?
ОтветитьI tried Arccos for a couple month it was terrible with the amount of missed shots and if its a mid shot that it missed and not a tee or wedge then you can almost never fix that miss with an accurate result. There is a free app called golfshot that can do shot tracking for $8 a monthy using only an apple watch, no sensors, and works 10x better then arccos. It probably made a mistake once a round where arccos was making a mistake once ever 1-2 holes. arcoss might have better statistics but golfshot is close and is more accurate for me.
ОтветитьPersonally I’ve used arccos and shotscope and have stayed with shotscope. 1) no subscription fees, 2) I like wearing a watch although their newer version looks better than the previous one I had, 3) found no difference between the data between the services 4) great customer service. When I broke a couple tags switching clubs they quickly sent me new ones at no cost. I’d love to try the garmin at some point but am totally good with shotscope
ОтветитьIts amazing how allergic i am to subscriptions. It could be the best system by a million miles, as soon as i hear subscription. I am out.
ОтветитьArccos is out for me with subscription base. Im surprised ppl are even using it. Over the course of a few years you could by the garmin wstch and sensors and you'll be ahead. As mentioned in other coments. With a garmin watch you dont even have to have sensors because the watch will ask you what club you hit. I bought a ct10 sensor for my putter which is the only club the garmin watch doesn't track.
ОтветитьI love the stats but Arcoss have a known issue with gps inaccuracy around the greens so your walking path to and from the hole is often in the wrong place. I have to fix the pin position on virtually every hole snd relocate my first putt.
ОтветитьI like Arccos and I really love the fact that it integrates so well with the Apple watch, but the subscription has got too expensive imo. Shot Scope could really take a chunk out of Arccos if they sold a sensor bundle that does auto shot tracking and pairs with the Apple watch (and maybe other smart watches) without any sort of subscription. I'd happily pay £150 for the sensors if it meant being able to get rid of paying a subscription.
ОтветитьWould love your opinion on the V1 Game app since it didn’t make the list?
ОтветитьI love my arccos. Definitely not for everyone but if you love tech they are great. They started giving 3 free sensors with each year sub, so will never have to buy sensors.
ОтветитьProblem in annual subscription… is we also have a winter! It becomes expensive for almost 4 months if real usage…
ОтветитьThe shot scope band tends to die and stop connecting to the tabs
ОтветитьNo one on the internet drives under 300 yards
ОтветитьHi. I’m beginner and I mostly want the data from driving range. It seems none of these would work on that because it uses GPS to track distance. Is there any value of having these in a range or is there a better product for beginners to get the data to become better
ОтветитьHow comparable is the battery drain on the Apple Watch between using Arccos and Golfshot Plus? Currently, I always run that through the round and have never had an issue with battery life at all. Only reason I ask is that my Apple Watch is a Series 5 and you noted there could be a concern for Series 6 and earlier.
Ответитьalready owning an Approach S70 would it make more sense to go with the Garmin CT10's due to the integration between the two seamlessly?
ОтветитьThe problem with Arccos is in my opinion, that you have a) to subscribe (for a pretty high fee) and b) can't change the batteries. Garmin on the other hand let's you change the batteries but the watches are pretty expensive. I don't know much about the shot scope system - the X5 would be interesting, but i read a few comments, where users say there are a lot of problems recognizing the tags.
ОтветитьLike you I have around 300 recorded rounds on my Arccos dashboard. The good news for me was that I am grandfathered in and am not burdened with an annual subscription fee. I have recorded an average of 10 percent missed strikes per round, about half of them are putts. Also be aware that on a lot of single putts Arccos "gives" me 2 putts. All in all I have found that if you want accurate data you must edit every round. I have tried every method to get recording without editing including using the iPhone, Links (initial and new Connect version) and now my Series 7 Apple Watch. The number of missed strikes appears about the same no matter which method I attempted.
Prior to purchasing the Arccos system I used Game Golf but the Arccos app is infinitely better. I send my coach my rounds before I take a refresher hour of instruction and he seems to know instantly what to work on during the lesson.
I just bought the garmin s70 . By far the best watch for golf . I can imagine how much better it is with the sensors.
ОтветитьI wanted to love shot scope. Easy to use and the watch is good on course. But it is way too inaccurate to be useful and I've had to go through and adjust literally every shot most rounds. Which takes about an hour. But that's all a moot point now anyway since i can't charge it using the proprietary charger.... It simply doesn't charge any more. So great concept but not quite there yet. I think i will try the Garmin as i do like having a watch
ОтветитьAs a comparison of these three systems , this is a great video.
Personally I find the Shot Scope app to be quite fiddly when trying to add missed shots or penalties. But I can’t compare it to the Arcos as I haven’t use that.
You raise a good point around 7m "when it becomes a distraction and not an aid". I found using Arcoss on course a distraction eg pulling phone out to put score in then transfer strokes from one hole to another when things went wrong etc became problematic.
Having a Garmin watch which prompted me to enter score & putts etc when I was on green so much easier. Having said that Arcoss data was better than Garmin and if used in conjunction with Apple/Android watch app it could work well! I think the link belt thing is still required though otherwise you need to keep your phone in front pocket witch I also hated!
Here's a hack for Arccos, I bought a dozen Srixon golf balls and then sent me a coupon for free sensors, just had to pay $10 shipping.
ОтветитьEnjoyed your review. I have been using the Garmin s62 with the CT 10 sensors for 2 years. Absolutely love the way it works. I don't wear watches usually but gave the s62 a chance. Only wore it for golf because it was big and on the heavy side. It does miss some shots but overall is pretty seamless. I upgraded to the s70 because of the screen, weight and beveled edges. It is awesome! The people at my country club that have used Arccos seem to only do so for a year. Not sure if it's the subscription or they are not using an apple watch.
ОтветитьI had the previous generation of the Shot Scope and was happy with it up until the watch stopped charging and SS said it was out of warranty. I took advantage of their offer for previous customers on the X5 and boy was it a disappointment. Way too many issues with the watch not responding, taking forever to load, missing shots and giving bad numbers. I think the potential is there but they released it way too soon. I returned it and am now looking at the Arccos system.
ОтветитьAlways excellent and thorough. I live Arccos. Been using it for years now. Bummed it’s a subscription now…wasn’t originally, but it’s still the best since I use apple Ultra and have hundreds of rounds logged already….the data is unmatched.
ОтветитьI will assume this is only for good golfers? What happens if you suck or a high handicap player? I can assume it won't help much as we tend not to hit the ball that well?
ОтветитьIf only I liked apple
ОтветитьI know this is a tag review but the garmin watch is light years ahead of the other two. Only neeed a tag on putter and you get all the data plus virtual caddie and many other features no one else has.
ОтветитьGreat video, Sean!
I'm a longtime S62 user but I don't really understand what the CT10 sensors would add above what I do now which is just selecting the club after each shot when prompted on the watch?
And I agree the Garmin Golf app is garbage.
I have the shit scope and the sensor durability is awful. The putter sensor broke first and a few others followed not long after. Removed the sensors and still use the watch but miss the shit tracking data
ОтветитьI had the arccos but as you kind of hinted to, if you don't have apple watch it's really not a pleasant experience. I have the garmin S62 and will switching to the garmin caps this year.
ОтветитьI could live with the missed shots on arccos. The thing that ultimately made me quit using it was every time I would walk through a shadow or play in the evening and I was checking yardages, my phone would detect the lighting change and go into sleep mode like it was in my pocket. I could never figure out how to turn this feature off. It was so infuriating
Ответитьjust got arccos last week after one of your vids, waiting on them to arrive :)
ОтветитьExcellent comparison between the three systems. I've used both Arccos and Shoptscope for some time now, Arccos since it debuted. I use one set with my Pings, and the other with my Mizuno. The V3 Shotscope Watch may be low on stock since the newer X5 has just been released and arrived yesterday. 😁
The Arccos software is by far the easier to use. I like that you can even edit DURING your round, after you finish playing a hole, which means that all shot data is finished/correct before the finished round is uploaded to the Arccos cloud. In the past I've gotten emails from Arccos as to why I was editing rounds so much ( a LOT of missed shots), that did not make me happy, as the emails sounded almost accusatory. Lately, I triggerred some bugs in the Shotscope post-round editing software, which Shotscope has said that they are fixing.
Hey, I'm trying to order the X5 from shot scope and your referral code gives me: Sorry, this coupon is not applicable to selected products.
ОтветитьHad arccos for two years and although it missed quite a few shots it eventually locked out between my watch and phone.they were unable to communicate and after two months Arccos could not fix it.I have now ordered a shot scope and will replace my grips and start again.
ОтветитьOne aspect not mentioned is that some of us are not just focused on golf. I believe Garmin holds around 80% of the GPS market. Athletes who also run, swim, bike, etc. are used to the Garmin ecosystem. I don't, and never would, own a "golf" watch. I have been wearing Garmin multiport watches for 10+ years. The CT10 system simply integrates into the Garmin data along with everything else, including my now vintage Truswing data.I can go directly from looking at my morning run data to my latest swing analysis, my BP and HR trends, or to my last round of golf. All in one app.
ОтветитьSo you ever review any of the skycaddie offerings for all of these different products?
Watches, handheld gps, launch monitor, shot trackers, they have them all.
Not sure if you have a comparison video but what’s your opinion of a watch vs range finder?
ОтветитьAll the things mentioned were valid. ARCCOS also has the coaching ability though I am not a coach so not sure about costs. I have been using ARCCOS for about 5 years, I think, without a doubt, it has had the biggest impact on my game improvement. I know how far each club goes, I know (as you point out) what areas need work, and at the beginning what club to select. It also helps when I am not in line of sight to the pin and can't use a range finder. Overall my handicap has gone from 16 to 4 using ARCCOS. I just wish that they weren't such Apple fan boys since I am a Samsung user, though I do have the link.
ОтветитьGood video, I’ve used both Arccos and Garmin systems and have to say the Arccos is better as of now. Not sure about shotscope. The app, data, user interface of the Arccos system is much better than the Garmin. In addition the ct10 sensors are very sensitive so you have to be careful to keep the sensors pointing down and not have them bang around otherwise it may record it as a shot. Also post round editing is much easier on Arccos.
That being said Garmin has no annual fees and you don’t even necessarily need the ct10 sensors. The approach s62 watch (when you don’t have sensors) will ask you what club you just hit after each shot. So once you set up your bag on the app and pair it you will be able to track your shots without needing the sensors (which solves the sensitive sensor issue and saves you money).
Not to mention the s62 watch is also fully functional smart watch that gives you notifications and a full suite of health tracking features with a number of activities besides golf that you can track.
A friend of mine has the shotscope watch and while the display and data may not be as nice or robust it looks to be a good system that gives you enough to get some good basic data that will help you.
