In some situations if no one takes what is left of the history it will be lost forever nothing last forever just like right out in the open history will eventually decay and it will be gone forever.. now that is in some situations and who ever takes what ever should be in a museum

Hello from the confluence of the Wabash and Ohio river's! Awesome videos! I'm kinda really very trying to find a kind way to express my feelings about the obvious history cover up! What I have learned from you has turned me inside out! Like no way such a vast landscape full of evidence of a prehistoric people could have been kept hidden from me for sixty years?

Love the long video . I don’t understand how you bushwhack and find your way back to you car .
Is there a pin drop GPS system that leaves bread crumbs for you to follow ? Or find the most direct route back ? Do you sometimes fly the drone up ahead to scout the route ? Thank you for the thoughtful comments and those colored pictographs were amazing … what were the natural substances that made the colors . Im especially confused about the white ! It looks like bird poop white . 😂

Never to long. When I see these sites thanks to you. I always wonder how they kept their toddlers and young children safe. Any fall would cause serious injuries or death. I initially thought these were winter dwellings but I now understand this was year long and permanent. In MN. The Native Americans had spring, summer, and fall/winter “home” sites. Depending on how they got their food. (fishing, hunting, gardening, wild rice harvesting, etc.) Thank you for sharing one of your passions.

I'm so conflicted on artifacts that are taken like that. It's pretty undeniable that that theft increases the chances of those artifacts surviving, but they will only be enjoyed and appreciated by a very small amount of people. People say "it belongs in a museum" but then forget that most donations to museums are never put on display (meaning a private collector is more likely in today's internet age to share it with the world). But if it stays there, then eventually someone who only cares about money may find it, and then you'd wish that a private collector picked it up and shared it with their archaelogy friends and the internet. Please be careful with being so arrogant about "leaving artifacts where they are is the best way to respect". If you know anything about archaelogy, you know how often that's absurdly inappropriate to do. Why do you trust random strangers not to make a quick buck so much? As per your own words, the days of "leave it be to preserve" seem to be over, since when good people leave things be, bad people see an opportunity. TLDR: the debate about whether to preserve the artifacts themselves or the entire environment is not nearly as simple as you want to believe. I don't trust humans nearly as much as you do, apparently.

I noticed there was a shape of a man at every entrance and hand print's both outside and in. This might be a part of the theory that the man shape was to let people know that this place has a chief or ruler and the hand prints are visiters those that stay outside and those who are welcomed in. Is this a plausable theory to you?

Nah. The doors would've been made with timber. Most likely the same type of juniper branches tied together. Close inspections on lesser handled or non vandalized builds would have a longer branch at the end used as a hinge. Sometimes you can find the hole in the mortar at the top still. Usually the bottom holes are long gone. Swing doors would have a horizontal piece of wood installed and would be tied to the door to swing outta the way. Kinda like a saloon door but turned horizontal instead of vertical

Stone slabs come in handy for many things but doors are rarely one of them afaik.
