Ipswich for is my surprise. I glad you mentioned them. I thought Kieffer Moore was another great loan move by Ipswich. Plus now we have the return of the Sir Bobby Robinson Derby!

What Leverkusen did was truly one for the books... To me another big surprise was how terrible Benfica was this year. The league table sort of hides how terrible they were, and it's especially surprising because before the season started many people even said "it's unfair" for other teams in the league how good they looked and how they could dominate the league for many years from now on. They have the most expensive team ever in Portugal (not even counting with Di Maria as he was free) and Schmidt looked insanely good on his first year so I myself thought they looked scary.

Nah bro not giving Bayer Leverkusen their flowers is crazy

Yes they are a big Bundesliga team but they are breaking records every day and won their first ever League trophy and are most likely winning the DFB Pokal and Europa League as well should qualify them for this list

Heidenheim actually played 6th division football 20 years ago. Thanks to Schmidt and Sanwald we are playing Bundesliga now. Schmidt lead us from 6th to 5th division as team captain and from the 5th to the first division as coach. Heidenheim also still is an e.v. (a legal status in Germany for a sports club. Special is: they aren’t allowed to save money), so they still are 100% fan owned

Of COURSE Sebastian Hoeness has been linked to Bayern, he has been successful with their B-Team and he has Bayern DNA in more ways than one, being Uli Hoeness' nephew. He is sticking with Stuttgart for now and seeing their success and his contract through, which makes sense. I think it is very likely that he does go to Bayern at some later stage in his career. But he knows he needs to have some more experience and achievements under his belt, for Bayerns bigwigs to properly respect him. At this stage, despite Stuttgart just having soundly beaten Bayern last week, he would still be "Uli's nephew" at Bayern, whereas at Stuttgart he is Sebastian Hoeness.

corrections for stuttgart:
Undav is no signed, he is a player of Brighton on loan basis and it will be super hard for stuttgart to hold him
Guirassy will also near impossible to hold, hes right now linked to BVB but would also have even higher options

Bayer Leverkusen should be on here over Aston Villa. Aston Villa have spent 111m this season so it is not too much of a surprise they sit 4th whilst Leverkusen have gone undefeated, beating 11iar Bayern, reaching the Europa League final whilst spending 80m (they also sold 69m worth).

There is Olympique Lyonnais in France too, they were bottom of the table with 7 points after the 14th matchday and everybody were saying they'll go to LIgue 2.
Now they are playing for an european spot and a cup final against PSG
