I had changed the battery but it still wasn't working -- I didn't realize the number sensors might wear out. I tried a new set and bingo it worked. Thank you!
ОтветитьThey are cheap devices and you would think they would make them so the keys don't stick or wear out. The problem is that since regardless of the 4 digit code you will constantly be hitting the enter button. The enter button is the one that usually wears out first.
ОтветитьRight now my LEDs are staying on, killing the battery fast. Is there a code to turn them off? Maybe a key press put them into 'stay on' mode. ? The pad isn't even a year old and rarely used. Thanks.
ОтветитьI hit the link button on the unit, set the code on the keypad, hit enter about 3 times, then my light blinks, I hit 0, then nothing. I hit enter, it closes as it should, then the keypad code doesn't open it... Chamberlain brand, similar keypad. The Craftsman on the other side worked fine. Any tips? (Old code shares no numbers with new code I am trying, tried 2 or 3 codes with no luck)
ОтветитьWhy doesn't the ENTER key wear out first?
ОтветитьMy keypad works only in daylight
ОтветитьGreat troubleshooting and clear advice, thanks!
ОтветитьThanks for the tip, saved me $100, easily just a new code with 4 other digits. Will these wear out and then have to buy a new one?
ОтветитьI would recommend not bothering with a garage door opener because they are not worth the trouble.
ОтветитьThe suggestion to replace the battery is a good one. Everyone attempting to reprogram their wall mounted key pad ought to replace the battery at the outset. It could be contributing to your problem and it's probably due for replacement.
ОтветитьOur enter button is the dead key. I guess off to Amazon I go.
ОтветитьBefore you consider repairs or replacement of it, look at your light bulbs in the opener! I know from experience that if you have LEDs in it, it will interfere with the wireless signal to the keypad. I went directly to the Chamberlain website and found this out on their page. So look at the bulbs first!
ОтветитьWOW great explanation
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьIf its battery issue then why this problem is only in winter?
ОтветитьI had already replaced the battery in our key pad…changing the pin did the trick…a new subscriber.
ОтветитьThank you very much, it’s helped a lot
ОтветитьSir, you just saved me a BUNCH of money! 💰 I did everything you said, but what REALLY helped me was you showing me where to locate the screws to remove the keypad since it's not near the garage door, but around the corner right outside my front door. You're a Godsend, sir. For making this video, I say: THANK YOU!!!

the model garage door opener of theirs i got matches none of their instructions for replacing keypad almost everything is done from the inside the garage push button pad, which is easier than getting to opener, but they don't give instructions for it.
ОтветитьBut how do I program it to a new opener? I can't find an answer. The remotes, I needed to press the prog button, but the keypad doesn't have a prog button for reprogramming to a whole new opener.
ОтветитьIf I buy a new key pad can I keep my old code, so I don’t have to change code in the vehicle?
ОтветитьThanks!
Ответитьmy main botton will not close the door.. It will open it after I put the code in, but not close it. Its a liftmaster..
ОтветитьGreat video! Turns out the buttons were worn out on the pad. Chose 4 new numbers and it worked perfectly! Thanks!
ОтветитьThank you so much! I had no idea there was a battery inside this keypad. I replaced the battery and hurray It all works again.
ОтветитьI appreciate the video, helped me out! Thank you
ОтветитьAfter watching lots of videos with no success I found the answer. You have to bring the device close to your learn button. Press learn slowly two times. Put in a 4 digit code then hold enter. I could not get it to work until I removed the screw and brought it close to my learn button.
ОтветитьActually no. My key pad is hardwired.
ОтветитьThanks! Great help and it worked!
ОтветитьDude you take to long
Ответитьhaha I always thought mine was hardwired. Thanks for the concise video. My battery finally died after over 10 years. Just be careful, the battery was rusted to the connector and I almost broke the battery clip taking the battery out.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьVery well done. Thank you.
Ответитьhad no clue closing it with just enter would work. but both my remotes and keypad stopped working for no reason after the last time i closed it
ОтветитьAnother problem I have seen is bad LED lights giving off RFI and interfering with the opening or closing signal...
ОтветитьExcellent instructions, I have resolved the issue with my keypad.
ОтветитьThanks for video. My replacement pad has no Enter button- assume I use # or * button as Enter?
ОтветитьWow, why doesn't my husband just fix this is something I keep harping on. Now I know it's an easy fix that I could do! Thank you! Going to work on it today. 😊
ОтветитьThank You , love your channel , keep up the good works
ОтветитьMine stop working the code, it flashes but won't open Farley new door, like less than 6 months. I'm locked i lost my door keys
ОтветитьMine stopped working, bought a new one. Still not working. Could it be the motor are?
Ответитьliterally no help at all, obviously they take batteries wtf
ОтветитьVery helpfull video. The instructions that came with my universal remote were completely different then the steps in this video and did not pair the remote to my Genie 2028 opener. After watching this video I was able to pair my remote in about 30 seconds.
ОтветитьThank you!!! Was trying to reprogram code and nothing was working. It was the battery, duh.
ОтветитьGreat video, but I can't get my light to blink when I hold the enter butyon after I try to change the pin. I've tried multiple times and when I press and hold enter no blink or sound.
ОтветитьSuper helpful! Thanks, Scott!
ОтветитьThank you for the great info! Keep them coming!
ОтветитьBeen locked outside of the house for 3 years now. If only this thing would work... I think I left the oven on.
ОтветитьAmazing!! This was so simple and so helpful. Who knew it worked like this. My keypad was worn out, changed the code and now it works!
ОтветитьThank you for the video it was very helpful. But after trying all troubleshooting, still not working. So I know it’s time for a new pad. The one I have now is 877LM. Do I need to replace with the same model or is there one that will work better. I was pleased with the garage door installation. But had problems with battery not fitting right into the key pad. They Mickey Mouse’s the fit by inserting a small folded card board so that the connection would take. I also had to replace battery several times a year.. Thank you…
