No one in this country wants to talk about this, no one wants to talk about how Africans actually became slaves, and how they were captured and imported.

The Sub Saraha Slave Trade was NOT Black Africans. It was the Copper Colored (Dark Brown, Brown) Hebrew Israelites Descendants taken into SLAVERY by the wicked Arabs.

The problem is slavery, particularly African slavery, was endemic in the New World for well over 200 years, long before the United States of America was founded.  The Constitution was ratified in 1790. The original  Declaration of Independence, drafted by Thomas Jefferson, made the new country's intentions of ending slavery known, but he was pressured to rewrite parts of it. The Constitution made provisions for bringing an end to slavery, still a common practice in the rest of the world. By 1865 the United States had abolished slavery 75 years after becoming it's own country. This is a point of view no one wants to acknowledge. How do you take a group of people,  who have known nothing but slavery for hundreds, even thousands of years in Africa and suddenly free them? How will they adapt to the society they find themselves in as now a free,  functional part, responsible to maintain that society's future?

In essence the European countries that colonized the New World are wholly responsible for slavery in what would become the United States of America up to a minimum of the year 1790 and even then the United States of America was not officially recognized as a sovereign nation until after the War of 1812.

Let's not forget all the other countries the Europeans claimed and killed the native populations while instituting slavery, bringing Africans who culturally practiced slavery to the Americas.

He skipped the part that talks about how the men that were sold to the Muslim countries were castrated and only 1 in 5 survived. What an awful awful end.. the slag of the earth that shed the ave boats so died in near equal numbers on the crossing.

This is historical things that blacks don't talk about, because they don't care for the truth, that slavery been around way before America became America, Blacks blame European for slavery, while ignoring the Muslim country that sold more slaves than anybody. So if blacks hate slavery so much, why they keep voting democrats, the founder's of the KU KLUX KLAN and Jim Crow, that's why a great black leader said in 1964 ! If you vote democrat. You are a traitor to your race ! Just about all Latino countries were enslaved to, we walked out of the plantation, and joined a free world. Is not to late for you

It's not necessary to discuss who started slavery. That doesn't help anything. You see that people brag about man coming out of africa and civilization started on the african continent. i"m pretty sure that includes cages and bindings for humans. I'm pretty sure that it didn't take humanity to go all the way to europe or asia before they invented cages and hand cuffs for humans. Then you're playing stupid. Are they stupid africans or smart africans? In addition to that people were trading with africa as a continent. the concept of slavery is to preserve the people as if they were an extention of the continant of africa where africans were probably enslaving other africans and using them to make goods and services that courier would ship to europe and bring goods back. They were most likely trying to get the same deal as the kings in africa were getting out the people.

It's just like with china some some america wanted to district a part of america for chinese slaves. Then he's trying to say it's not slavery because it's just like they treat chinese in their country.

But it's impossible that europeans are the first people to tie up a black man. Africans are humans. The same bad stuff about humans existed in africa just like the good stuff existed in africa. You're trying to say that it's the garden of eden before the sinful europeans showed up. That doesn't really help to start that argument, because those are racial arguments. The excuse for doing slavery was probably "they do it to each other." That 5th column type of failure sets people up for slavery.

I'm mixed brazilian 🇧🇷 with some African ancestry and just learning about this topic. It hurts, it feels like having surgery without anaesthetics but in a way it does help me not to have a victim mentality, so I can accomplish more in life and honour my ancestors who were likely sold by other Africans.
I've read that Nigeria has a statue of that madame tinubu - a rich youruba slave trader who Nigeria gives a pass because at some point she "regretted" selling slaves.

Blacks were the first people to exist in the world for thousands of years so I always knew that they invented slavery. Sad that black Americans don't know that. Also don't forget that North Africa slaved millions of whites and that the men would be castrated and the women were put in the harems. Don't forget also that in 1994 the genocide happened in Rwanda. Hutu tribe killed almost 1 million Tutsis.

Once you read about the trans Saharan slave trade, who were the perpetrators (Arabs/Muslims and Africans themselves ) the length of time it went on for, how many black Africans were brutalized, died during shipment or walking, then understand the Atlantic slave trade and the similar process that black Africans continued to endure under European colonization, u begin to understand why Africa as a whole is in the position it is in today. All parties are responsible for this. But something that doesn’t get discussed often is who contributed significantly to the abolition of slavery globally (although it still exists). It doesn’t fit the narrative so it doesn’t get discussed.

It’s odd. I don’t hear too much noise from the left attacking Sowell, but I think it’s because they’re too afraid to give him any exposure, even if it was a hit piece. He’s too dangerous to their narrative to risk demonizing and failing.
The tragedy isn’t that Sowell’s history lessons would flip the current history narrative pushed by the powers that be in the US, it’s that they would add to give a far more complete understanding and context to the mechanisms of history, and the roles of different power structures involved.
To move forward, to achieve true progress and a sense of equality of the value of the life of human beings, can only be achieved by the full robust story.

When Africa descended people and whichever nations ethnicity clash without knowing this where countries need to apologize for a practice that Africans already had makes all of the west look incapable of working with ethnicity and the worst is that it only takes a small group to play to the East’s propaganda agenda as it seems they had no African slaves.. idk this peeks my interest in which nations were part of what 😊

That is a damn lie. Servitude in Africa was not slavery like the Arabs and European slavery. Inferior Arabs started the slave trade of African people for thousand of years using fake religions and white Europeans tabed in the arabes Turkish slave trade in. Africa and took over the business of slavery for the next 400 years. Blaming the victims of the biggest holocaust mankind has ever experience is racist and deeply demoniac. How can people that have the bloodiest and most aggressive history want to be the moral teachers the history of oppressed people’s history?

This is the most dehumanising and cruel method of dealing with other humans. The West has defined itself through this genocidal and barbaric way that has no comparison in modern human history. Therefore, it is only through unity of purpose that Africans will ensure that at no moment will they let down their defence to be treated as such. It is totally arrogant to be lectured on democracy and human rights by people who up to now failed to acknowledge the most horrific enterprise that is exprienced by Africans in a way of slavery and colonialism.

Good approach but It is so unfortunate that the descendants of those who suffered in the transatlantic slave trade have chosen to believe in propaganda and compromised history. If you ask Florah Shaw in her book the Tropical dependency of 1905.
When one understands that only negroes and not all African races were affected by trans Atlantic slave trade then one will understand who sold them into slavery and why???.

Van Everie, an eye witness tells us in his book Negroe and negroe slavery of 1865 that European explorers started trans Atlantic slave trade circa 1434 and captured the negroes themselves. Henry Stanley goes further and explains how he landed amidst his crew, and selected a village, set it on fire and in the commotion captured anyone he caught male, female, children and old. Maiming the escapees.

Slave trade and a description of the part of the coast of Guinea during a voyage by CB Wadstrom 1789. Sea Nile, the desert and Nigritia by Joseph Churi 1851 Some historical accounts of Guinea by Antony Benezzet 1771 among many other sources confirm that Europeans later on trained, armed and paid Mohammedans, Arabs and black Caucasian races to capture slaves for them in exchange for arms and jewelry due to time wasted in sailing. Find out those races from the books.

The Europeans know better that the battle with the negroe is always the battle of the mind and if the mind is conquered then he is going nowhere.

The Islamic slave trade lasted a lot longer than the rest of the worlds as well except for Africa itself.

Tom Sowell's mindset about slavery indeed gives credence to the saying that " being academically accomplished without weaning oneself from indoctrination , will never measure up to one having common sense " . Tom conveniently self induced amnesia about the fact , that there were former black American slaves in North America , who themselves became slave owners / traders in North America , buying and selling other black people during the slavery era . Yes physical slavery in North America as we understand it , is now history . But mental slavery is still being exhibited .
