As an American, I so envy hearing efforts to speak correctly. Our media is full of trash talk that is seeping endlessly into the national vocabulary.
Hooray (or is it Hoorah?) for the dynamic trio!

Sacre bleu (holy blue!) is a replacement for Sacre Dieu (Holy God!). Its similar to the American sayings , “oh my gosh” or “Jiminy Christmas” to avoid using Gods name in vain.

I sat behind Armand watching Fulham at Craven Cottage a while back and heard him voice much French. If he reads this I am sure he will remember. He left early after one particularly loud exclamation.

“Sacré Bleu!” comes from not wanting to say the Lord’s name in vain essentially. It’s exactly like “Oh my gosh”. “Sacré Dieu!” means “Sacred/Dear God!” and IS an expression. People don’t say it anymore, but it is real 🥲 A simple “idk what it means or if it’s real” is better than “no one says that! it doesn’t mean anything”

I laughed so hard with this one!! I applaud Armand for doing his best to teach these 2 French lol. I took French in High school, if my teacher was that handsome I would have paid attention lol.

I'm sure it's spelled differently, but in the US we say poot instead of fart to be polite or in front of children.
