Who cares? I don't take Boeing anyway.
ОтветитьPetter, if both companies were run by engineers as Boeing once was, it would be a matter of helping a fallen runner on the same path- and making some gains of it's own. I see the challenges you mentioned, and if Boeing doesn't get out of it's self induced spiral, it won't take the end of the decade for it to happen. But I'm not sure the location matters as much as you might think- local sentiment is vs Boeing for leaving- Spirit is the out fit that saved them. This has more the flavor of some board room, top down decisions, to me, at least. But hey, I'm just a guy riding in the back couple times a month and staying in hotels that lots of airlines book their flight crews into. Keep a better informed eyeball on them!
ОтветитьConclusion never trust boeingd planes
ОтветитьBoeing , once an envy of Aerospace companies worldwide is now the laughing stock of those same companies. Ceo needs to be fired along with a lot of upper management and then bring back the engineers to run this company
ОтветитьWell it seems like Boeing's problems started right after Donald Trump did a fixed price for two Boeing 747-8i airplanes.
ОтветитьHas David Calhoun succeeded in digging a hole in Boeing since he took office in 2018? Did he bring too many of the excavators into his leadership?
ОтветитьObviously and regardless, there was a certain tug of war precisely about what is now the A220 model between Boeing and Airbus from the beginning. Airbus drew the longest straw. and today, if nothing else, they have proven via Air Baltic that this was a perfectly fine choice.. Feels like the European company has been significantly further ahead strategically. And will probably also rule in that way this time?? Boeing must start acting more customer-smart if they are to regain some of the lost market share. ??
ОтветитьAt one point i was proud to say i work for Boeing in the Everett plant. 777,777x lines.
Now i don’t mention where i work at all it’s pretty sad to hear stories from the old timers and to see how things have been changing. But for the pay I’ll work here till retirement unless something very unfortunate happens.
Few people take pride in their work like i do putting and focusing on doing the right thing.
Blame it on Trumps anti-migrant policy. They now need foreigners to help🤣🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьIt’s smart that airbus and Boeing marge ….(American military market) and then take on Bombardier, Embraer.
ОтветитьActually that point of Boeing buying facilities that build Air Bus that is a big thing both of them want airlines to be made regardless. Same as Samsung and Apple, they compete but internally Apple is a HUGE buyer of Samsungs displays.
ОтветитьIn all trade wars there are events which are generated by people who only think about weakening competition in order to earn more money. In this specific case I think that people with bad intentions are responsible for these setbacks.
ОтветитьEmbraer is lucky the deal with Boeing failed, wow, they are really in good shape now, to overtake both Boeing and Airbus, my prediction in next 20 years, watch out world, buy stock in Embraer!
ОтветитьWhile watching this, we crossed paths with the Airbus Beluga over Belgium while flying in a SAS Airbus A320 Neo. It was a magnificent sight, and maybe even transporting some wings from Spirit. How apropos.
ОтветитьBoeing tried to stop Airbus at all possible ways, so why should they help them. I think they even lost interest in Boeing, it is no competitor any more. They have their share of the market so who cares. And I think they keep a close eye on the quality of the Spirit production and delivery. They will not let it stain their reputation.
ОтветитьI pay for premium. No ads. Later.
ОтветитьI think AB considering it might be “what happens to Boeing if it were forced into bankruptcy or “partnerships” more advantageous for the partners?
ОтветитьIf they don’t sort their shit out the company will fail and Chinese aircraft will be airbus biggest competitor.
ОтветитьWhat kind of contract does Airbus have with Spirit? Does Spirit own the patents of the 220 wings? Couldn't Airbus terminate the contract and build the wings themselves?
ОтветитьLack of conscience in work equates with companes dumping chemicals in rivers. They won't see the outcome down the road.
ОтветитьRestart production of the 757. That is something awesome that Boeing can do.
ОтветитьCorporate America has traded running a sustainable business for running a money making machine. Jack welch and his greedy disciples care only about the stock price, everything else, including making a safe product is irrelevant. It is end stage capitalism devouring itself.
ОтветитьI wish instead of saying brand names, people would use the name of the leadership and blame or attribute loss and success to them.
ОтветитьIf anyone remembers Kelly Johnson, he organized a small team of best engineers to build the most epic planes of the 20th century. Who doesn’t remember the SR71? In 1950 they didn’t even use a computer to develop it…
ОтветитьAttn: Mentour Pilot:
From Canada? Yes...
A bit on the "windy" side Wichita KS is in the middle of the infamous U.S./ Tornado alley! Having survived one ornado in my time, might not the Boeing thought of buying back
Sprit Wichata get "All blown up: in yet another way?

ОтветитьI think the biggest tell that I am new to aviation is my opinion on Boeing. The Boeing of now is the only Boeing I've knowingly experienced. It feels weird seeing people reminisce on how Boeing used to be
ОтветитьAs far as I can read up here in Europe, Airbus is not interested in what is happening inside Boeing. The are Europeans you know and they produce airplanes. Boeing was legally fighting them, the American way and they defended them self. So stop thinking the American way if you comment on what Airbus is doing, they build airplanes. That Spirit - Boeing business is oh so clear. they wanted cheaper products. And now they get punished for it. I am sure Airbus has a plan and they will not ask Boeing.
ОтветитьThe biggest issue with boeing is that they are way to busy making too much promises and going all around in all spaces. They need to step back a bit and work on one thing at a time and not like 4 things at once and jumble it up.
ОтветитьHang on to your assets, China is on the edge of undercutting Both.....
ОтветитьDONATE THE 737-MAX TO THE U.S. MILITARY THEY WILL MAKE IT WORK THEY HAVE SEVERAL 737'S NOW TAKE THE TAX-WRITE-OFF THEN DO SOME HOUSE-CLEANING WE WILL BE NEEDING JETS FOR DEPORTATION EASILY SOLD FOR CARRIER AND PASSENGER USE LATER JUST MY THOUGHT!
ОтветитьIf you work for Boeing, or fly on one of their planes, I assure you, it's a killer experience !!!
ОтветитьIf Boeing goes bankrupt and Airbus gains market share then expect Higher plane price and cost of ticket prices
Ответитьone thing you neglected to mention is that the Chinese market for 737 may soon disappear due to their new aircraft C919.
ОтветитьExcellent analysis, spot on. This pattern is repeated through American industry. Again and again, some clever clown with an MBA, a law degree, an Excel spreadsheet and fancy PowerPoint invades, then destroys a perfectly good company. They come in from Business school singing the praises of Jack Welch, eviscerate the organization, collect their multimillion dollar bonuses, retire, buy their mega yacht and live happily ever after, leaving the people who do the real work to clean up after them . . At least the few who weren't made redundant to fund the aforementioned mega yachts. Sickening. It's theft and fraud.
ОтветитьAt that time, all CEOs here in Finland did the same - outsourced their core businesses, that is. Everybody else was banging their heads to nearby walls. The unshakable market leader in dairy products sold their ice cream brand and factory to Nestlé Finland, of all companies. The CEO of that Nestlé branch looked as if he had woken up in the morning and found a goose laying golden eggs on his pillow. (Nestlé's share of the ice cream market here used to be around 1% at the time.)
ОтветитьI never like videos, but that face made me do it... 😂
ОтветитьThe European Spirit sites have different work ethic to the US where pressure from Boeing on prices mean they use more cheap labour as at Boeing's South Carolina plant thay has quality control issues. If Boeing bought Sprit they would likely have to divest the European operations under EU competition law which would favour Airbus.
Ответитьthe saddest thing is that they would consider any other benefits other than "we can benefit the most from building airplanes that don't kill people (when they aren't supposed to.)"
ОтветитьI could see either happening. On the one hand, like you said, splitting the purchase with Airbus gives them each control of their own supply chain and mitigates the cost of the merger/purchase. On the other hand, struggling as they are competing with Airbus, owning a piece or their supply chain is probably very enticing as a way to sort of hedge their business. This way they are making money selling their planes, but every airframe sale they lose means they are picking up in parts supply to their competitor. It’s certainly not unheard of for companies to produce parts for their competitors, Samsung does or at least did at one time build screens for iPhones after all!
ОтветитьI am a Boeing share holder. I've family members who have worked there since WWII as well as good friends who've worked in a variety of positions there. Everyone of them said moving headquarters from Seattle area was the worst decision it's ever made. It is really all about money, there "Management " is very poor at making a safe reliable airframe. Who wants to fly in a plane that may fall out of the sky with almost certain death?
ОтветитьI don't think either Airbus nor Boeing are "serious" about acquiring parts of (or the entirety of) Spirit because they both realize what a nightmare it can be to integrate a company into their fold. I think they are using this as a bargaining chip to send an indirect message to Spirit that they can "buy" them any time they deem fit, but the reality of the matter is the crude Adage applies "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free". In other words they can still outsource a lot of the work to Spirit and not deal with any extra cost or hassle of acquisition and integration.
ОтветитьAt some point in time, Microsoft has helped Apple with a billion $ or so, to avoid getting into a position, where monopoly regulations would apply.
ОтветитьIt makes me smile every time you say Wichita. I used to live there, and my German great grandpa would always ask How we are doing there in Wichita ☺️ makes me feel nostalgic
ОтветитьI know people who could fix Boeing.
They are all retired.
If boeing gets control of Spirit both will go the same way which is down!!
ОтветитьBoeing is 100% FINTECH (financial engineering, thus it’s not hard to see where they are going.) Boeing debt is irrelevant. On One side (of the ledger) we have Boeing books: it some things as debts lists, on the other side an asset. The assets allow Boeing to invest or buy other things. Boeing should seriously hook up with the Chinese, better would be the Russian’s. And no matter what anyone thinks — money talks. Given global heating, the world breakup into various multipolar entities, and the fact of the energy cost of engery (EcofE) keeps rising means the whole industry has incredible problems. Just how many airline production company does the world need? My guess is very few until a series of problems get solved (using hydrogen, wing design, eand new engines) then how should airspace be used. Petter things are much more dangerous than you think. The day of tailoring this plane x people x route - is over. Ain’t coming back. The current setup costs to much and constantly under performs. When you start using hydrogen as a fuel, it is real irrelevant how much fuel is used from getting a- b. It’s all water and hydrogen. Watch small bear.
ОтветитьWow! I thought Airbus was made in china. But when they first got going i thought it was European. So m6 first impression was correct.
ОтветитьThe A320 ie a workhorse so many companies use it. Especially in europe.
