CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Eating nuts may help your brain.

This is according to a new study in the Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging. Researchers found that older adults who ate at least 10 nuts or peanuts daily had a 40 percent lower likelihood of poor thinking ability compared to those who didn't eat nuts.

What's really interesting about this is that this was true even after researchers took into account other risks for memory and thinking problems, such as being overweight.

This study didn't necessarily establish why nuts could be good for your brain, but previous studies have shown they have a good kind of fat, they are high in B-vitamins and fiber and are linked to reduced waist weight.
