I definitely appreciate this video. What I hate the most is these brokers/dispatchers don’t want to work with you because of your “new authority” afraid something will happen but that’s why you get paid from this high asss insurance I’m paying every month if something does go wrong. that’s why I’m covered, you’re safe!. Sheesh.. they want 2-3 months seasoned authority like this 💩 free every month how am i supposed to pay insurance/truck note with no work??.. keep going hard my boy I appreciate this video.

Hello! Nice video! I've noticed that you were checking the scores of factoring companies. I had trouble finding the right factoring company as well, however, I found a great Chrome extension called "FactoRight". FactoRight helped me easily find a trustworthy factoring company. I have just added this extension to Chrome and it started showing factoring scores of companies.

Tip to help you out…

1. Don’t tell them this is your second company. That’s a bad thing, not a good thing. What it says to them is “I had a previous company that failed for some reason” - they’ll assume the worst, not the best… Like you selling the company etc.

2. As fast as you can, accumulate enough cash reserves to NOT need to use a factoring co.

Freight brokers that post to load boards are bonded. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not that common to get stiffed, and if you do, there’s a good chance you’re still gonna get paid from the bond either way.

Factoring companies gouge far more than the actuarial “pay risk” of any one load. Ironically, factoring companies fail to pay and outright fail as a company, at a higher rate than brokerages, and factoring companies aren’t even bonded.

3. When talking to brokers, especially trying to sell your new carrier co as “experienced”… It’s vital to have the lingo right. Driving empty to a shipper is “Dead HEAD” not “dead hand”.

This is true and I was thinking when I become an owner operator in the future I want to take load from company’s I use to take when I was driving as a company driver to the owner operators they got the same loads with the same companies everyday and they paid them good and I only drove those loads 350 miles out and back . I want to do those loads on my own authority

You'd recommend a 26' box truck instead of a cargo van/sprinter? How do you OTR with that? Inflatable bed but where?
