How to Use TILESETS in Godot 4

If you have problems with errors. Make sure to write scrips in actual "Player" scene and not in AnimatedSprite2D etz... :D

Took me a bit to figure out, but I'm happy with the results! Thanks for the comments as well because I was having trouble getting the world to appear. The solution is to change the main script to the world instead of the player like it was in the last video. Can't wait to use the skills to make my own RPG!

Godot keeps randomly erasing parts of my object tiles when i create grouped tiles.

my character is under the tilemap how do i fix it

for those that see the player in a grey area or the map zoomed in , go to project settings and restore scale under display-window category

I have replaced the main scene with world, but the following error still occurs when running:
Script inherits from native type 'CharacterBody2D', so it can't be assigned to an object of type: 'Node2D'

When i play the game, the tilemap is bigger than my camera, when i scale down in window on project settings, its ok but the character is way to small, if i resize, the character is to slow, any help?

for those struggling to get the player to show up on the map, you likely need to change your main scene. go to project > project settings > application > run and you should be able to change the main scene from player to world. Hope this helps someone lol

i created my tilemap with grass and trees but when i press play on my game it brings back to my character scene but not together with my map and im confused because i put my character in the map but the map isnt showing up with my character

How do u make the grid boxes smaller bc my tiles are hlaf the size of the grid and so it doesn't exactly work properly?

My player is moving but the tileMap is blank when i test run, there is nothing what to do?

I instanced my player scene and it shows the player should be in the world map but the game runs with the blank background instead.

just banged this out along with the 1st video, and the longest bit was just making the map. Looking forward to the YSORT and collisions in the next video. I made my map a little bigger than yours so I have to fill it with more stuff, but overall it is looking very good! Still excited!

How to create tileset from single file images in? godot 3 I could add them in a scene a convert a scene to tileset now that option is gone in 4.0!

Following along to learn godot and really enjoying the information so far, but would be great if you scripted your tutorials more or edited out the bits of backtracking like with the tileset/tilemap. Maybe even don't edit them out but explain what happened when you say whoops and talk through how to get back to the window you were using. With big panel heavy programs (game engines, DAWs, image/video editors) just getting to the information you want to see can be a big obstacle to beginners.

Enjoying this so far. I'm a web developer, but when I got into coding I wanted to be a game developer. Unfortunately I ended up working with servers and cloud and all that boring stuff. Instead of following something I wanted to do I invested more and more into something I COMPLETELY DESPISE now. Your tutorial is not only teaching me a good amount of godot, its also motivating me to follow the path I always wanted and giving me some hope for a future I'm actually happy in.
