what i learned about this is that you really need a gpu to play games smoothly. i have i5 with no gpu just that built in graphics

For those in the comments saying how incredible is the i9, I would rather buy the i3 and save 300$ instead of making my upgrade path way harder with the i9's older tech. Just saying

Для большей объективности сравнения именно процессоров нужно было выставить одинаковые параметры на памяти, слишком велика разница между DDR4 и DDR5, с более хорошей памятью i9 будет способен на большее. Хотя даже так не получится создать одинаковые условия, например из-за различных версий PCi-e

This test is irrelevant and silly because the i9 is an enthusiat memory oc beast that will easily give 20-30% more. This test portrays the lowest possible tier of tuning on i9-9900K. There's no way 13100 ever beats a fully powered 9900K with fast ring and 4000mhz+ 35ns ram in gaming ipc and let alone overall single thread, not even close. Even 14400 with 6 cores overall won't outperform it. 14500 and above that's where it should sruggle to compete.

4 Cores is dead in 2023 no matter how powerful single core it is. Even r5 3600 can perform better than i3 gen13 in some games

That's why I didn't ditch my i7 10700 and it is paired with an rx 6600
Earlier it was paired with igpu and later i bought a rx 6600 , it bottlenecks but still get over 110 fps in 1080p in most games

I saw 13100F & DDR4 motherboard combo for 170€ used recently. It would have been great, but somebody snatched it right away.

Why don’t include 4k resolution? 1080p mostly CPUs bottleneck with a 4090, I watched a lot of contents that in 4k even a 4090 can bottleneck any cpi. Pls do this same video same cpu and 4k?

So is the i9 9900k still viable in 2023? or should I consider the i5 from 13 gen?

Would like to see what a 13900k would do just running on 6 or 8 p cores only. A 14320k might be an incredible chip for gaming but that is not going to happen.
