Does Intel come out with CPUs 2-3x more often then amd? The 5900 here is up against the 10 series. but The next gen release of AMD were the 7000s and that was against the 13 series Intels. Meaning 11 and 12 came out between the 5900 and 7900.

I literally just dropped this chip into my mobo the other day. It's a MSI 370x SLI plus mobo that supports the chip via bios update...
I am super happy with it so far. Hoping this video doesn't kill my high lol.

And another couple caveats. I got it on sale for sub 300 dollars on sale at time of this comment, despite it being more expensive default retail.

For the record I'm glad you guys do these videos. 2 years later, I finally have extra money to upgrade my 3600x for use of my unraid server. And with the price of the 5900x being 320 bucks today, I think this is a great upgrade.

Please slow down and give us viewers the chance to take on board what you are saying without pausing/rewinding, I know you mean well and have a great understanding of PC builds (that is your craft, I'm also good at my job) components etc... I spent a huge chunk of money (18 months ago) on my pre-build AMD 5900X, X570 ASUS Hero VIII (WiFi) with 32GB Ram, 850 PSU and have a Zotac 4070Ti installed. I won't tell you what the overall cost was (not cheap.. 🥲) but even before I can download a game I'm guessing this rig is now worthless, out of date, going off what you are saying, so have I wasted a fortune... anyone else in the same position ?

for the gaming community a 5900x is your choice over the 5950x

I upgraded my CPU to a R9 5900X I get 1600 plus in single-core on Cinebench R23 but on multi-core, I'm lucky to crack 16,000. even after manual overclocking or using Precision Boost Overdrive.

Hello, for Ryzen 9 5900x, in Cinebench R23, I am getting a multithread score of 18100 -18800 only. Does this mean it is faulty CPU or its normal. note I am not overclocking the CPU by any means. My MB is B450M DS3H

this video sucks 1. this cpu on amazon is like 300 2. you get 3 free games with it. 3.12 cores and 24 threds for 300. 4, its the top selling cpu on amazon right now, so i got it. the hell with this review

Can someone verify that the testing of this cpu is showing that at most it will draw 200w of power maximum? i have read it is much higher

5yrs later, I dropped a $350 5900x CPU in the X370 motherboard I bought in 2017, replacing the 1700x that I started with. Huge upgrade for next to nothing :)

I love the 5900x but the only problem that sucks in the temps at idle to low percentage usage i have an x53 nzxt cooler with thermal grizzly kryonaut thermal paste, under full load it’s around 60 to 65°C but with low usage of 10% it’s still around 50 to 60°C on idle it’s around 38 to 50°C that’s kinda insane because I had the core I9 10900k The idle temps were around 28 to 35°C but under full load there about the same

hey Steve i have an asus tuf gaming-plus motherboard with rizen 5 3600. i am not an overclcok dude i want to upgrade my cpu to rizen 9 5900x. In my mind my motherboard can take that cpu?

Just bought a 5900X at Amazon for $390. It's going to replace my 5800X that I paid $400 the first month it was released. Also purchased a Gigabyte 3080TI for $999.

I just bought a Ryzen 9 5900x….not a planned upgrade, but….get this….bent the pins on my old cpu (R7 3800x) wilst removing the fan/heatsink during a much-overdue dusting session.
Well, it’ll be a nice upgrade at least.

Just snagged a 5900X for $380, $120 less than the 3900X I bought in Aug of '19, amazing...

Finally moved to the 5900X from 3900X which the latter I had bought a few months before the 5900Xs launch. It was always my intention to max out the AM4 socket (no need for xx50X variant for me) and at £365 UK and the older Zen 2 selling above £200. The small premium from the sale was justified. Just as planned :)) Should do for a good few years now.

5900X is now $349.99 USD so, here I am justifying moving to B550 from 2018 MSI X470/R5 2600X.

now that my x570 socket is at the end of the road and the 5900x is $448 ill be pulling the trigger soon on one with a h170i LCD cooler to replace my 3700x and h100i. not looking forward to upgrading to ddr5 in the future

My 5900x fluctates from 40c to 75c on idle with 10 fans in the o11 evo with z73 with all stock settings is this normal or is there something wrong with it? Please help

My 5900x averages like 60-65c minimal load and like 70-77 max load (my max load at home) are these temps ok?

The 5900x can be had for under $450 right now from Amazon, or from Newegg (with a promo code). Think I'm about to jump on it.

This is why I normally wait for about a year instead of buying right after release. Upgrading from 2700x, which I also bought about a year late, so should be a pretty noticeable difference.

Then I'll just have to save for a year so I can turn my attention to replacing the 5700XT...
