The French don't have anything to be ashamed about. Lezak just found some superhuman strength and pulled off the fastest split in history. I still watch this race whenever I want to feel motivated and think something is a done deal. Most incredible sport upset I have ever seen, knowing how impossible making up that gap is in the sport of swimming.

The way they edited this video, I thought someone was breaking the law or something.

LEZAK= INTELLIGENCE, TECHNIQUE, STAMINA, LUCIDITY & CLARITY OF MIND , SELF CONFIDENCE AND .....

Lezak was unsane...and tactically superb.
And Bernard was not a genius...
But french swimmers should be a bit fairy...americans did an extraordinary race, more than every french mistake they still talking

To blame their coaches is insane. That decision got them the big lead in the race. If they kept the order maybe they are not in such a great position to win

The USA’s 3rd swimmer was horrible and almost lost us the Gold. Needed some heroics down the stretch by JL to get the win.

Interesting insight. I think it was just destined for Phelps to be able to break Mark Spitzs olympic gold record count.

I remember watching this on tv, it was totally engaging and exciting. Two great relay teams. Congrats to both, although the disappointment for the French was huge.

plain and simple, Bernard got tight the last 30 meters. No excuses, change in order or not, he did not get it done. Yes, Lezak was unfreakingbelievable, but if Bernard wouldn't have tightened up, they would've won gold.
