I never understood why a launch cradle was used instead of the landing gear. I can see the cradle being used during development, but not the launch.
ОтветитьOne of my favourite shows of all time, this take off was one of those iconic moments I'll never forget. Great job of editing and enhancing the sound! I always thought LIS had one of the best soundtracks of any TV show. You could cut the tension with a knife as the ship gears up for take off!
ОтветитьNothing else had that sound. Luv it😎✌️✌️
ОтветитьIm gettin me a life size jupiter as a mancave
ОтветитьThe Jupiter 2 is the coolest flying saucer ever. 😊
ОтветитьMezzerised and transfixed this former 8 year old when Lost In Space first premiered in September 1965.
All the while thinking I will be a old man of 40 when the Jupiter 2 lifts off in that faraway year of 1997.
If anyone asks why we don't see Dr. Smith and the Robot, it's because only the pilot without them was (recently) colorized thusfar.
ОтветитьWhat are those sound effects, exactly.
ОтветитьJust love this. Background music
ОтветитьAngela Cartwright was a cutie.
ОтветитьWho colorized it ?
ОтветитьDidn't no the made the pilot in colour
ОтветитьI u ften dreamed I was part of the family on the Jupiter 2
ОтветитьThis beautiful cut what's the Gemini before it became Jupiter 2 it's so tight and perfect. I remember thinking June Lockhart had a beautiful figure and perfect makeup. In the pilot I believe John gave her a very long kiss as she stepped in the tube which I'm sure back in 1960 when was pretty racy. But it did establish that they were in love married and ready to go into space. I love when professor Robinson teases Will with a little fake punch.. a very Dad thing to do. Also when you think about the fact that the designer of the show decided to go with a flying saucer when we were just doing rockets at the time was ahead of its time... In the first episode with dr. Smith I remember Loving to see the second-level via the elevator... I love how you just by hitting buttons something on this ship would move pop out or activate. I felt as a kid this was a real spaceship because it looked real. John Williams scores are absolutely brilliant they build emotion and excitement but the sound effects of the engine is really amazing. I love the sound of Jupiter 2 makes when it's flying in space. The beautiful colorization gives it a beautiful nostalgic touch especially the gold and silver cryogenic units behind the freezing tubes. Also it's very interesting that the two chairs are not seen and that the panels for the controls flip inside out like a laptop. Because it's Gemini only was one deck I wonder where the Robinsons actually would have slept or ate on this one deck only ship. Second-level galley so well-designed and so were the staterooms although the beds look mattresses look mighty thin. I always wondered who slept with who And where does the bathroom actually exist on the Jupiter 2? The outside shot of the Gemini from the top looking down into the viewport is actually a beautiful shot not seen in the first episode. The ship in the meteor storm after this is my favorite scene.
ОтветитьAre there any other "Nitpickers" out there, who saw Grey, Tube shaped Support legs, at the beginning, and Grey 'Box-Beam' Supports, at Takeoff ?
(Or did i drink, fermented bug-juice?)
Is beautiful the nave , porque podría haber sido un poquito más grande
ОтветитьAs a child, this series could do no wrong... until the talking carrot came along.... but I just noticed a huge, glaring error... the parents go into stasis first, before the children...
ОтветитьWell done! Excellent stereo immersive audio effect. I love the sound of the Jupiter 2 engines.
ОтветитьI like how you colorized this scene. I remember it in black and white.
ОтветитьAlways loved the Gemini 12...aka Jupiter 2. With her innards not making sense with her outtards.
ОтветитьI loved this series and the Toronto symphony did the Jupiter 2 engine sound as an introduction to the theme song. I was blown away.
ОтветитьI was so excited when I saw this on TV as a kid. Of course it was in black and white, but who cares...so good!
ОтветитьWhen people call a spaceship a Flying Saucer, nothing looked more like one than the Jupiter 2.
ОтветитьHow is this in color? Isn't this from the first season?
ОтветитьZorro in Space...
ОтветитьEven today I’d still rate it the best launch scene I’ve ever seen…
ОтветитьI always love the background music and the starting of the Jupiter 2 atomic engines during liftoff!
ОтветитьI liked the 2 level Jupiter 2, it looked more user friendly. Star drive engine sounds great.
ОтветитьI not only love the the sound of the space craft but the music as well, it has the perfect crescendo of anticipation and danger.
ОтветитьMan what a great liftoff sequence. The colors really stand out. June Lockhart is what incredibly beautiful woman and she looks absolutely amazing here in color.
ОтветитьNothing else to this day compares to that lift off! , the sound and visuals of a man made saucer using antigravity propulsion , glowing as it powers up! No one dared to use the idea of flying saucer tech and design in any modern tv show or movie .
They Always relied on some form of rocket propulsion... this show was Bold and daring in its premise
LONG LIVE THE JUPITER 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьI don't know who colorized this but they did a great job. It's beautiful!
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьI noticed the very first take off from earth the j2 glowed, but the j2 never glowed from take off again..why?🤷♂️🤷🏾♀️
ОтветитьBetter than the original, but it would have been even better fire extinguisher the rocket sound. Just have it as it sounds in the last season when taking off.
ОтветитьFantastic
ОтветитьColorized!
ОтветитьMy favorite show back in the day
ОтветитьJudy's sweet silver butt has never looked so nice.
ОтветитьWRONG MUSIC
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьMost definitely ! Always love the j2 liftoff! The effects, ship and the music is great.....classic!
ОтветитьWhat is only a kid but I always fell in love with the way those engines sounded when they powered up to take off
ОтветитьThis is much better than the lift off in the original show regardless of color. Too bad Mr. Hutton didn't direct the original shows and keep them from turning to schlock.
Ответитьenough space in ship❤
ОтветитьProbably the best ever take off's ever created. I can't think of any apart from a real Saturn 5 lifter going bonkers.
