i have a HP 255 G7 and i heard it doesnt have a CMOs battery and uses a "internal main battery" to control its clock settings! and i cant access the bios because of an admin password! how do i reset the bios now?

I have an old HP pavilion XT963 Windows XP PC Desktop. I am trying to turn it into a Linux, but the problem is some of the f keys for the bios are missing, I can't use the F12, the System BIOS is shadowed and the Video BIOS is also shadowed, I keep changing the CMOS Battery it keeps giving me error 0271: check date and and time settings, and it will not boot from both a burned disk and USB for some unknown reason it won't respond. Can anyone help me?

Hi, please direct me to the correct video. My HP530 starts fans when I plug new charger in, but then it stops and repeats this cycle: Fans start and PWR button light up without me pushing the button. I’m using a new charger and new battery. Nothing happens when I plug it in with battery attached.

Hi! If you're gonna read my comment, I want to tell you that it was not an optimal solution for my CMOS (502) error. 😟 This is what happened:
After replacing my main battery my laptop (HP 15-daxxxx) only starts once hooked to ac power. Otherwise it wont even turn on. Once it shows a cmos checksum error for a few seconds, it boots normally. After resetting cmos, the laptop runs normally and I can unplug ac power. My laptop model doesn't have any CMOS battery. I already updated to the latest bios version and resetted cmos a couple of times. Unfortunately, it did not help. Any advice what to do and why this happens? 
For a few days now I stopped shutting down the laptop. I just put it to sleep

Umm I don't know if you are gonna respond to this or not but pls help me I have tried everything even the bios reset but the laptop dosent seem to turn on it just charges with a white light on it I think it is the same model as used in the video above pls help I really need to fix my laptop 😢😢

the cmos battery replacement worked! I did try flashing the bios at first but that didn't work. Replacing battery did!!!

Can you help me mate, I turn on my laptop HP 250 G6 on charger or on battery and it is working for like 5 seconds and the backlight shows on screen but it turns off for 5 seconds and after that it again turns on for 5 seconds its like stuck in the loop. I tried reseting cmos, tried holding on power button for a minute and everything but its just stuck in the loop everytime I would appreciate a lot any help thanks

sadly, my cmos is not visible from the opening off of the back panel, nor after removing the large flat battery...freaking out mecause my error was cmos to begin with, but I'm still a newb.

Without opening, the battery can be short-circuited from the outside with a needle to reset it

This might work for me but that damn screw is striped now.

My laptop - fully charged, power indicator lights up (usually blinks), fan is spinning, no display even on external monitor, the little light at mute and caps lock button doesn't turn on, charge my phone when i connect it.

Do you have any tips for striped screws? I have a full ifixit tool box but nothing seems to be working and i don't want to damage it anymore.

I factory reset my gateway laptop and had to go to work. I plugged it into the outlet and went to work. It was off when I got home so I tried turning it back on. The power light blinks blue 5 times and that’s it. Doesn’t power up. Black screen. Pleaseeeeee help

Hi please help I bought legion 5 pro 16ith6 two months ago and it was working fine until I started it yesterday it doesn't turn on it like it's dead but when I put the charger it gives a light of charging and when it's charging the usbs are working but the laptop is dead how can I solve that.

I bought a brand new battery and the same thing happens. Whenever I remove my charger my laptop goes dead. Whenever I restart my laptop the battery icon starts working normal like it’s charging then and it stops at 84%. Any idea why what I can do? My charging light on the side of laptop is on. It’s a HP 15 -1272wm.
