Great to see a video on a desk setup! I got back into hifi a couple years ago by putting together a desk system. I'm using Foobar2000 on my PC to access my music library on an UnRAID media server (includes all my physical CDs ripped to FLAC). The DAC is an old Go-Vibe, which I want to upgrade to something with DSD capability. The DAC feeds an Emotiva BasX A-100 amp which drives both speakers (Elac B6 Debut v1) and headphones (Hifiman HE400i, Sennheiser HD6xx). Not having a center imaging issue with my monitor even though the speakers are recessed, I think because I don't toe the Elacs in very much. The center image locks right in! 2" sound reinforcement foam in the corners about a foot behind the Elacs, behind and above me really help tame the small room.

Bi wire them kef speakers = better imaging/wider soundstage.

Hey nice setup, you should research acoustic panels and it will take your sound to the next level. I do like how you have the equilateral triangle but you really need to investigate this. I have heard really expensive setups(10k-20k speakers) in homes sound really horrible because they failed to understand that a room can really destroy sound with bouncing. The acoustic panels in my Home theater and also in my listening room were the last thing I did when it should have been the first because that is what really improved the sound.


I had everybody keep telling me, get some really good acoustic panels and ignored them for the longest time but when I finally listened everything improved especially imaging. That phantom center your looking for; will be there when you shut the room up. I used to tell myself the same thing if i pull the speakers away from the wall, it will be good enough. Nope.

you should put your computer tower on a stand to elevate it off the carpet where its pulling in a lot of dust into the system
