Christian-Pierre La Marca joins with the Concert de la Loge and Julien Chauvin for a poignant and personal recording for solo cello and orchestra: Legacy. This album sets out to draw together many strands of the cello’s history, showcasing its unique beauty in solo parts. The cello takes centre-stage across the album but Christian-Pierre also adds to the musical colour by programming some collaborations – joining forces with his violist brother Adrien La Marca and violinist Julien Chauvin for the unpublished fragment Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante for violin viola and cello and with celebrated countertenor Philippe Jaroussky in an extract from Porpora’s opera Gli orti esperidi.
