This is by far one of the best intros to a style/method of painting I've seen. It's straightforward and easy to follow. I also appreciate the suggestion to not go hog wild immediately buying every color of the most expensive paints and brushes. The tip on how to diy a wet palette was really good to see too. This is the first time I've heard of a wet palette and using one would have saved me some hassle in the past lol. Thanks for a great video!
ОтветитьI am so confused as what to do AGGGH. I have world eaters primed black and an array of cheap acrylic paints. I can do washes but all of the contrast paints and minor differences confuse me to no end! I dont know whether to use reikland fleshshade, or agrax earthshade. Or even nuln oil for the whole thing
I want a good looking model and im not new to painting... just miniature painting lol
I don't fully understand the miniature hobby. Is there some market for these painted minis that warrants the expense involved? Y mentioned assembling minis "like a pro". Does that mean this is an actual profession? I'm an airbrush artist. The work I have done has been on marketable things like doing custom art on cars and bikes etc. Beside working in automotive paint shops and for a chopper fabrication shop. I've focused on things like guitars, computer cases, and even textiles. So is there money in this hobby, or is it just that? A hobby.
ОтветитьWhat size in numerical value do those Kolinsky brushes need to be? I cant find any in Canada with Small, Medium, Large etc. 00,0, 1 and 2 good? I have been painting for 8 months and need to move beyond my current plateau. So im here to learn about the finer details, colour theory, lighting, shading, etc. Id like to one day enter into competition level. But first its time to upgrade the brushes! Any thoughts?
ОтветитьI have white army painter primer and compared to my wraithbone can, the diffirence is astronomical. I would never buy army painter again.
Ответитьdamn you sound swedish
ОтветитьMark Rober music was funny
ОтветитьDoes anyone know what model it is they painted in the first of 3 ways? I am referring to the Minotaur guy that was holding a boulder.
ОтветитьAre acrylics just base paints? cause I don’t see any acrylic paints on the GW website
ОтветитьI’m already into airsoft that’s already a expensive hobby now I wanna get into 40k another expensive hobby god help my wallet
ОтветитьLol. When you said Biltema, could hear the Scandinavian in you.😂. Anyway love the info thx😊
ОтветитьWould have liked to know which size(s) you recommend for all 3 brushes.
ОтветитьI love the second painting method, but I’ve looked and it doesn’t work for like silver armour. Or does it?
Ответитьi try now painting for a month i guess and it sucks i have no friends that can help me learning it.. my biggest problem right now is i have the feeling i use my brushes wrong maybe while washing them in water or dry them i dont know but my tip of the brush never stay pointy like yours and many times after one use single strains ar standing of from it... well now i learnd from u that i should use a cheap brush for the washes cause i dont really know that washes can break my brush.... i just wonder what else i dont know while i throw out my money trying to learn that hobby xD
ОтветитьZenithal priming. Where have you been all my life?!?
This is such a simple concept and so absolutely brilliant. I used to paint quite a lot, then stopped for years because my kids were very small. Now the kids are older (youngest is 10 now) I'm getting back into it, this is a brilliant technique. Can't wait to get my models out and try! Thank you!
Amazing tutorial! Thank you!
ОтветитьTack så mycket är 13 och har precis börjat måla på miniatyrer så det är nice med lite tips😊
ОтветитьCan you get a clear primer?
Ответитьso the cheapest technique to start out would be number 1? (cause if i understand right, u acryl and contrast both for no2?)
ОтветитьThis is one of the most superb tutorials out there!
I've not yet painted any minatures for my board games but done alot of research. I understand the basics and as I just want tabletop ready, I'm only going to focus on prime, zenithal then speed paints but this tutorial so far has explained so much I've missed and really given my some much needed confidence. Absolutely fantastic! If you could add chapter markers to the video this would help alot more too!
Thanks so much for making such a detailed video
Thanks, great overview for a beginner!
ОтветитьOoo what night goblin mini is that?!
ОтветитьHi, Im planning in the future to give a gift to my father a miniture. What can you recommend a budget simple and older people do you think love to paint?
ОтветитьSay I painted a sword then how would I paint the any kind of writing? Without recking the sword colour
Ответитьim so nervous toget started into paintion but im hoping to learn well
ОтветитьOne thing that's very difficult is choosing which paints to buy first. Obviously which acrylic colors you'll need will vary depending on what you're painting but are there any paints that are used with regularity? Maybe certain flesh tones or washes?
ОтветитьIf one day I want to change a colour of my miniature, can I paint the new colour over the wash and then reapply the the wash on top?
ОтветитьFlytta till andra sidan jorden, började med Warhammer och nu kollar jag på er. Surrealistiskt haha
Tack för super material!
save money on wetpalette:
Buy tupperware with a lid formed just like that - i found one that looks just like a wet-paeltte tray, buy about 3mm thick cotton sheet - the ones florists use to keep a fresh bouquet alive and wet, and white baking sheets. cut it all in fitting size, put in tray: done. my wet palette looks 1 to 1 same as the ones u can buy, works JUST as good and cost me what.. 6 bucks? no way in hell ill ever buy a wet palette, such a scam tool nobody needs. xDDD
The citadel glue strings out when you are using it. Brush is always better, hands down.
ОтветитьFirst time painting a Star Wars legions figure, this helped
ОтветитьHow long should you wait before you apply the second layer of white primer to the miniature
Ответитьso excited to paint my Deep Rock Galactic Boardgame :D Rock and Stone!
ОтветитьAs a beginner, I would like to learn why the Army painter stuff is not good
Ответитьi want to get into painting minis but dang it seems like a lot of work and money.
ОтветитьWas so intimidated coming back to painting, I think I will be good now, and produce something that I'm proud of
ОтветитьNo mention of TTRPGS? D&D is much more popular than the war games. Channel vendetta? 🤣
…oops! Had only gotten to the intro as I was posting this 😵
Great Video, Thank you!
Ответитьis the white paint you spray on top also primer?
ОтветитьYou lost me at the peanut butter and resin sandwich.
ОтветитьThank you for this video. Im ready and have the courage to give it a shot. Just have one question? Will a gold acrylic ink work over a citadels black contrast paint?
ОтветитьLike any other hobby, compare your work to your previous work. Be insired by better, no need to copy or be perfect. Most important thing, enjoy it. When it becomes tyring stop, have a break! Again, enjoy!
ОтветитьWatching this knowing im probably not gonna do this ever feels like an alchemist being taught how to start making sculptures, god I love the internet
