In my opinion the process should have come to a hard stop until the proposed cutting into the beams were approved by a marine structural engineer. From what experience I have as an engineer with class 8 trailers using fiberglass bodies (not an expert in boats), the repair should involve feathering the new section over the old. The abrupt stop and start of the woven fiber and glass may be prone to fracturing. The multi layer's woven material's direction is also important (90,45,90).

I don’t understand why a single rectangular sink is regard as better than the two circular sinks in the galley, but it clearly makes Renee happy.
