Fry’s family aren’t the best family but they aren’t the worst either. I’m glad that Fry’s family actually cares and misses Fry instead of the usually black comedy I don’t love my son or daughter trope.

When i first watched this, i always thought he took the picture that Fry drew because it was part of him taking his brothers things, but it was actually because he missed him so much 😭 this fucking episode man

Yancey’s son used the clover and followed his uncles dreams and changed the world, that’s why Fry fits in so seamlessly in the year 3000

Tom Kenny rocked this role, and the ending makes me tear up.

Is the game Fry's mom mentions the same one from when he got to talk to her in a dream later? If so that's an amazing easter egg for the writers to have mentioned and added

"You're twice the THE he ever was." Bender is such a supportive friend.

It’s still very sweet that Fry’s brother passed down his dreams instead of claiming them for his own. It proves that Yancey did care for Fry.

Did Fry’s family ever found out he got frozen?

You know not to spoil the moment but its kinda weird the dudes gravestone had a reference to the person he was named for right?

I love how Futurama was this stupid show full of corny jokes that, every once in a while when it felt like it, just impaled you through the heart

a pigs sentience is closer to human beings than a dogs is.
Humans have souls and internal contemplations of life; where as dogs are meaningless love machines that just love in the most Petty Rawest version of pathetic love you could imagine.

This is why this episode is better than Jurassic Bark, because even though I love dogs, a dogs love is the stupidest version of Love imaginable; people anthropomorphize their own love and feelings onto dogs.

It's visceral. Do bark at you when you're doing something they don't want you to be doing or you're not showing them enough attention. This why it tell people if you have dogs and you start having kids I recommend you get rid of those dogs, at least until the kids get a little older, because dogs are required so much attention that it's really ridiculous. They're pretty much program to be Psycho

I remember watching this episode in the middle of the night on adult swim for the first time. I burst into tears.

What's funnier for me is the slogan of the cemetery "you'll never get closer to heaven", which while its seems reasonable, "heaven" is mostly related to being in or closer to the clouds so this cemetery is actually waaay further from heaven than any cemetery on earth.

This part always makes me sad.

Just an absolutely insane call back in the later seasons with frys moms dream. He walks in and the TV announces wisconsin winning the rose bowl 17-9 and his mom cheering. This show is Groenings masterpiece for sure.

Something that took me a long time to realize about this scene is that the clover came through for Fry one last time. He spent his entire life thinking no one cared about him being gone, that no one from his old life loved him, etc. In the end, he believed in the clover so much that he hunted it down only to discover that he was wrong. He was deeply loved and missed by his family. Remember, this episode came before Jurassic Bark, too. He truly thought everyone he cared about just moved on and didn't care that he was gone, Seymour included, but in the end, the clover comes back into his life to prove him wrong and give him some much needed peace.

He named him after his Grandfather

This show was funny, but damn, they also knew how to tug at your heart strings.

I like how those guards don’t bat an eye at three people walking into a graveyard with shovels

You know if you think about it, considering how crappy his life was at that point, they’d probably come to the eventual conclusion that Fry committed suicide

Respect to Yancy's wife she was so understanding she knew letting him name their child, after Fru, would give him so much closure and Happiness. Alot of woman now wouldn't let them even have that privilege.

While Jurassic Bark is sad, I i always felt like this ending was the saddest. As someone who lost their brother at a young age, this hits extra hard.

It's heartwarming to know that Yancy named his son after his brother and his son became everything Fry ever wanted to be.

I cry every time. I once burst into tears describing this scene to someone.

Tom Kenny really nails the emotional gut punch in this scene. Like they say, comedy is harder than drama, so if you can nail comedy...

Wait, how does Bender's Big Score affect this? Because in it, Fry(Lars) lived in the present until the early 2010s

Growing up I lost my younger brother to a work accident. This episode really made me take a step back and think of the good time we had. Very underwater episode for me.

…aaannnd then along came “Bender’s Big Score” and they completely retconned this! 😡

Always loved this scene and watching it just now made me tear up. “Son I’m naming you Phillip J Fry in honour of my little brother, who I miss every day. I love you Phillip, and I always will.”

This show is one of the best TV shows I have ever seen, even to this day. The fact that they can go between meme-worthy jokes to incredibly serious topics back to just stupidity is amazing. I wish there were more shows like this nowadays.

When you think about it fry's had a pretty sad life, being in the future his only living relative is the professor he doesn't have any other relatives other than that. Though there are 2 upsides to him being in the future he found friends that he's never had before & he found love

What's really sad is that Fry fr the most of the series believed that nobydy missed him.
Plus they desecrated nephew's grave for nothing.

Frys older brother had a son and named him after his younger brother. When fry realized the grave belongs to his nephew, everything changed at the exact moment❤️ I'm sure before they went home he placed the clover right back with his nephew🍀
