ОтветитьMagnificent piece of music very moving makes one think of life
Ответить❤ what a triumph of a composition and how this orchestra bring its nuances to our attention… astoundingly beautiful.. just glorious. Thank you 🙏🏻🤩 ❤
ОтветитьGeorge Walker a composer of Jamaican heritage although born in Washington DC . He was the first black composer to win the Pulitzer Prize for music.
ОтветитьThis is the most underrated piece of music I've ever heard
ОтветитьPerformance: Kevin John Edusei conducting Chineke! Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall on August 30, 2017.
ОтветитьFor composers and musicians of such talent we should all be profoundly grateful. Splendid.
ОтветитьA VERY MOVING PIECE CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY IT
ОтветитьLush beautiful and mysterious.
ОтветитьI'm doing a short paper on George Walker for my Music Bibliography class as I watch this. Absolutely beautiful. Saddened that I was unaware of Dr. Walker until a few weeks ago.
Ответитьgreetings from the UK I heard this on radio 3 a moment ago and thought how beautiful this piece was and then found it here. How well constructed this composition is and played so sensitively by an orchestra I have never seen before. A real treat and thank you very much for uploading.
ОтветитьSoooo lovely. Should be a staple in the string rep.
ОтветитьThis is so beautiful. I’m going to the Portland Symphony to listen to it live, yeah.
ОтветитьI have needed this music for ages. I feel healed.
Ответитьthis song reminds me ...Mahler
ОтветитьThis is a gorgeous performance.
ОтветитьThis is one the most beautiful pieces I've heard in a long time. This gives me joy, and I love the diversity of the orchestra, wish more classical performing groups were like this.
ОтветитьNo words....only, thank you ❤
ОтветитьI arrived here early one morning, drawn by curiosity; (it was in the "to watch" list , aside the Baumgartner Fine Art Restoration video, I had been glued to for the previous hour.) I'm actually a bit sad that I had to wait until I was 80 years old, to hear these divinely uplifting sounds for the first time. I'm now on a (lockdown) quest, to hear as much more of his work as I can find; I'll be back, whenever my soul needs a little lift! Thank you Mr Walker!
Ответить😭Thank you George
ОтветитьThis is by far one of the most beautiful compositions I've ever heard
ОтветитьThis is such a beautiful piece of music and beautifully rendered, thank you, such peace
Ответитьlovely
ОтветитьBBC é merda.
ОтветитьSo incredibly beautiful <3
ОтветитьHere's a sonorous triumph.
ОтветитьNice music and it’s calming I wish I could play that good and I play the violin
ОтветитьA beautiful and moving piece.
ОтветитьBeautiful. Spiritual. Transcendent.
ОтветитьIs that Sheku's brother? 1st violins, 2nd row inside?
ОтветитьDoes anyone know the reasoning or scholarship that went into the 2nd violins in measure 51 playing a "d" instead of an e-flat?
ОтветитьLove the diversity of this orchestra. And the piece.
ОтветитьWhich Orchestra is this and who is the conductor? Thanks.
ОтветитьSuch a beautiful, noble piece! The Cincinnati Symphony will be playing it in 2020.
ОтветитьQue c'est beau ! Merci.
ОтветитьAnother gem of a slow movement from an early String Quartet (1946) by George Walker, arranged for a larger string ensemble, the same genesis as Barber's "Adagio for strings."
The quality of the writing is superb, the music at least an equal to the Barber.
Thx for putting this up! Lovely. Being played at ChicagoSO 4/12-17/18
