I kind of agree with them but a lot of the shows and everything kind of have been sucking lately. Also if this keeps up and starts bleeding the company dry maybe their might be a shake up in the big business.

The strike does not have a very strong position either the writers or actors, Hollywood is simply too expensive, movies are just too expensive and there is way better quality and cheaper international content then a lot of what Hollywood produces.

This strike also lowers a lot of Disney costs and as the biggest studio this is not good for the strikers. This strike could last until the union breaks or the smaller studios cave because Disney is going to stay firm and could quite easily simply go offshore for productions.

The strike is too little too late. The money has vastly cheaper alternatives and they simply don't care about the people or the Hollywood system.

Their ultimate goal is to get rid of movies

AMPTP, WGA, SAG. It’s hard to tell who has the most disregard and disdain for the film and television working class and I. A. T.S.E. Guild and crew. AMPTP, WGA & SAG are all the elites rolled into one. All complaining about how much money the other ones are making while the rest of us fall into debt despair and face down foreclosure. They are all going to find a different attitude from the crews they will be depending on in the future, and it won’t be nice.

Hollywood being on strike again. To me it feels like the last time they went on strike in 2007/08 or when MLB went on strike in 1994. To me it all feels like a case first world problems. Hollywood screenwriters, actors, and MLB players make more money than the average joe does and will.

They are in a much better position in life and yet are whining about how little they make, while a lot of regular people are struggling to stay financially afloat.

Plus, I don't like the WGA and SAG-AFTRA as organizations. They are join by invitation only, yet aspiring screenwriters and actors are expected to play by the union rules, while being excluded from the guild. Just feels like massive gatekeeping to me.

I do believe in strikes for good reasons. Case in point with the railroad strike. They were average joe workers asking for healthcare and sick days, which is a very reasonable ask. These strikes (WGA / SAG-AFTRA / MLB) just reek of "I want 8 million dollars instead of 7 million."

I know I am incredibly biased, but keep in mind, I am not a billionaire or an "temporary embarrassed millionaire," but just an average person not doing well financially himself. I know people will say, "support millionaires over billionaires," but I don't support either, largely because they don't support working class folks.

1. You get paid more than enough, be grateful and stop whining.
2. AI will never replace you, even if they do, Hollywood will regret it.
3. See point 1, you get paid more than enough, you don't need to rely on streaming service compensation.

Unfortunately this is typical throughout major corporations/businesses' and certainly not unique to the entertainment industry. Businesses are by design for profit, and often at the expense of exploiting their employees. Large proportions of the people protesting are making several times the average income of blue collar citizens.

Lazy untalented actors want more money for less work. I know some actors work hard by taking drugs(STEROIDS and COKE) to look good but maybe the SAG should make the STUDIOS pay for STEROIDS and COKE.

This is why I care more about which TV networks hold the syndication rights to 2 Broke Girls, like TBS, than which streaming services hold the streaming rights to 2 Broke Girls, like Appletv+. A year before this strike occurred, it only took the big HBOmax purge for me to realize how lucky I was that Netflix and HBOmax did not stream 2 Broke Girls like I thought they would. As long as writers and actors on strike for better royalty payments from streaming services, technically still get paid royalty payments from syndication rights and physical media DVD sales they were paid before the strike occurred, then I guess we are doing Beth Behrs a favor by supporting 2 Broke Girls in watching live reruns, and we are helping to pay Kimiko Glenn and her tits by buying physical DVDs of Orange is the New Black.
