I have unironically been using the non-war histroy from other channels for this exact purpose, but glad I can have one place for it. Just wish you could go even more indept, and flesh out all contexts. Maybe make an "Ultimate sleep timeline" eventually. Can't wait for more quality content.

I hate to say it, but except for the excessive physical cruelty Caligula reminds me of a ruler we are encumbered with today. Demanding worship and obeisance by those underneath him, his vanity, and his cruelty in humiliating others. His absolute control,his forgiving crimes make me think of the 5,000 or more of the 1/6 our ruler pardoned. His big rallies so much like circuses to amuse the rabble, his venisl sexual escapades and questionable morality. The poster boy for power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I just saw your impressive thumbnail and I'm very interested. I think true scary stories have done something to my psyche and increased anxiety. I can't listen to all historical documentaries because some of them have music that annoys. Or they may have intermittent noisiness that would interrupt sleep.
I Subscribed so as to give benefit of the doubt to your wonderful idea for a channel. I have interrupted my listening to the most horrid AI narrator reading, hacking through, the second in the Jack Reacher series of books, to give a little sample listen. I like it 😊! I will be using a very often.

Nice voice, volume, annunciation, and pacing. ❤ The videos with people whispering or speaking so slowly, I find to be distracting and keep me from relaxing.

I also appreciate that there are no annoying music or nature sounds in the background - especially no jarring ads to suddenly jolt me awake! 🙏
