Reminds me of a happy childhood with my parents dancing around the kitchen whilst making Sunday roast.

While this classic song was a hit tune of my parent's generation in 1960, it's a beautiful arrangement that has stood the test of time. A dreamy melody that soothes the soul and for myself, a nostalgic sensation for an era of innocence and simplicity that really only exists when wearing the rose colored glasses.

My parents “song” back in the ‘60s. It instantly transports me back to a time when the US was very clean cut and innocent. Vietnam wasn’t a thing yet… just a different vibe completely.

In 1968 I joined an oil tanker in le havre to go to cameroon I bought my mum an LP of raymond lefevre covering ame caline I then heard on ships radio whilst on watch theme from a summers place by percy faith both orchestras had beautiful string section for me two of the best string music to tug ones heart even then I was a young romantic now and old one

The theme from Summer place….when the world was a much better place and a time I very much miss along with the happiness that use to be.

My sister, who is no longer with us, wad in love with this song when she was a teenager. She would play her 45 record on her record player over, and over, and over. Thank you for the memories of a time when we were all young and had our whole lives ahead of us.
