The release of EOC is when i started losig interest in the game. I've played since 2003, and my simple brain couldnt handle the mechanics coming from "click, click, click yay!" I played legacy mode until max combats and then went to osrs, kinda bummed I had ro restart, but i couldnt do the blizzard/roblox feel i was getting from modern rs

i know i am late to this i just got back into runescape and i have been an off and on casual player still having the same account i made when i was probably 7 years old being almost 25 now. never had a long term membership so i never got to experience the full game but i always just messed around with doing random things i used to do for leveling tbh still don't have a 99 and i just play the game to remind myself what i used to enjoy when i was a kid. overall though i do miss playing with others who were f2p who were just having a good time skilling up and chatting with people and now i fall into the have a second monitor and watch something while you skill mental.

I love both games for very different reasons and actively play both

Played RuneScape for like 20 years on and off.. laptop, phone, old pc (younger). Recently i just got a pc and when i tell you that i got WOW and the expansion just for me to completely return to RuneScape and make a hardcore ironman. The plug ins make it some much better and the graphics on this GPU is dope asf so this experience feels brand new!

As someone that spent a long time playing Everquest, the new player experience is absolute garbage.

This video is way better than a lot of the beginner type vids out there which are a bit hard to follow for brand new players.

OSRS only exists because RS3 was trash

I really dont like 3 because it feels like the priorities of the dev team are only on new game and very late game which leaves places like ardougne and karamja looking like you're playing osrs and its really fucking bizarre. Make 3 completely visually cohesive and I might go back to it but otherwise, osrs being (mostly) cohesive in art direction is like 90% of why I play it. Also the lack of MTX, they just make 3 bank idling the video game like you said and its boring (but efficient I guess)

I found nostalgia because someone I know was playing dumb idle games on his phone but this one was based on RuneScape. I tried it out and instantly felt like I wanted to play old school again like I used to.

unfortunately I’d have to completely start over even though I had a pretty decent character way back then,
Not to mention the rare items.
