Great video! He really explains everything. Thank you for that!
ОтветитьWhy not tack the rafter to the outer edge of the sidewall then mark bird mouth and seat on inside of stud ?
ОтветитьMerci ! Les techniques sont très bien expliquées.
ОтветитьDid you use pressure treated wood for the rafters and top plates. If yes, did you let them dry out first?
ОтветитьI like your videos keep it up
Ответитьاسمح هذا السقف بهذا الشكل يعني لا نحتاج لسقف كلاسيكي .؟
Ответитьthat's beautiful I'm gonna build my own shed you have me motivated mate
Ответитьthose are not hurricane clips sir lol
ОтветитьCan you send me the plan please?
Thank you
Awesome mate👍
ОтветитьI was waiting for the part to see how to install the side pieces of studs from the high to low. From the side plates to to the roof joists or rafters. I guess next time. Great video though
ОтветитьWhy not use metal hardware from the sides of rafters to hold them and better distribute the weight
ОтветитьWhy did you use treated lumber? There was no reason for that other then the floor frame and flooring
ОтветитьHow do you insulate the roof in your design? Since there is no ridge, as in a roof with a gable, there is no ridge vent. Are there no vents installed on the lower or upper sections of the roof, and if that's the case, does insulation take up the entire thickness/height of the rafters/joists? My roof doesn't have a ceiling frame, as the roof is the ceiling. To have additional natural lighting, I have casement windows in the raised area, so I can't install a ceiling frame. Thank you.
Ответитьany reason why you used 2x6 lumbers instead of 2x4?
ОтветитьThanks, mate. A very good upload
Ответить2, which equates to 10 degrees, you forgot that part.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this! I was trying to find clear instructions for the birdsmouth cuts.
ОтветитьI don't know if you know but nails are safer bc the screws break and the nails are made to have a litte movement just saying and you hava an otter follower
ОтветитьA much easier way of doing the birds mouth cut is to use an off-cut of your top plate timber (half thickness) and just draw it onto your rafter when you've decided the overhang on each side of the shed while your timber is on the roof, cut your two notches out and trace every other one from that first piece.
ОтветитьThis is a nice shed. Ridiculously over-built and way too expensive to park a lawn mower in.
ОтветитьDamn homeboy✊🏿💪🏾🙌🏾
ОтветитьThanks… I was just building my shed this morning and this video popped up tonight… great break down
ОтветитьI can't believe you didnt cut the front and rear rafters to be parallel to the walls. That angle makes the roof look super cheesy.
ОтветитьOr, place one joist on the top of the framing and set the overhangs, then place a framing square with the blade against the front edge of the top plates (front and rear) so it lays against the joist and mark it. Repeat that on the back side of the top plates (front and rear), then set the framing square blade against the back sides and adjust the position of the tongue so the lower edge intersects the front reference line and the bottom edge of the joist. Mark across and you have a perfect notch. No measuring or math needed (assuming you calculated the pitch when setting the height of the front and rear walls.).
Ответитьthis is BS both front facia and rear facia should be PLUM!!! Now where do u put the Gutter on?
ОтветитьWhy don’t you rip a 2X4 into a triangle wedge that matches the roof pitch and slide it between the roof rafter and top plate instead of making bird mouth cuts? I think that is a lot less work than making bird mouth cuts.
ОтветитьGreat video, subscribed. One question: You installed the blocking at the edge of the top plate. I agree that will look better, but aren't you worried about ventilation? Are you planning to insulate this space and do you have a ventilation plan?
ОтветитьVery very nice work, buddy😊
ОтветитьOr you could just temporarily attach rafter to side of wall & scribe both birds mouth for a template. This is what builders do.
ОтветитьI used this video to put the roof on my chicken coop. Thanks for sharing this info! I’ve never done carpentry but my coop turned out awesome in part thanks to your video.
ОтветитьYour plywood should have been staggered! Over time it is going to split
ОтветитьTo bad the hurricane ties are fastened with the wrong fasteners
ОтветитьAll plywood goes across the rafters!! Also, plywood clips are missing!! Your young... it is not OK though!! WTF
ОтветитьCould you not just put the roof truss up hold it 2 inches further to the back off center, then just put the framing square over the 2*4 trace that into the roof truss on both ends then cut it done
.
Your a genius at teaching. 👏 very useful and easy to understand. Thanks!
Ответитьwhat is your shed height in front?
ОтветитьDude I built an unground pool I have space for 16×12 pool house you build for us and video. Let us know.
Ответитьare you using sketchup?
ОтветитьThat looks pretty dumb
ОтветитьWhat did you use as soffit?
ОтветитьDude, love your video. But there is way to much movement. Getting dizzy had to stop. Please manage your motion so I can watch the whole thing. Thank you
ОтветитьDeck screws aren't permitted for hurricane ties. Are you in a wind-zone?
ОтветитьHow long of overhang do you have on the high end? Do you have to worry about snow load? I want to have a 3' overhang of my shed-style roof rafters that are 16" apart and 2x8's. Will this have enough support for load in winter?
ОтветитьGreat job! What program did you use to draw your plans?
ОтветитьAny tips for a guy with no speed square i gotta do this today and the hardware store doesn't have a speed square and im back at work tomorrow so wont have another chance for a couple of weeks and snow is coming lol
ОтветитьMan, I bet this shed cost a pretty penny.
ОтветитьAre those 2 by 4
ОтветитьWhat size of wood you use for the raptors
Ответить
