The Best Cowboy Game You Never Played

FoF was really fun when I didn’t have money for many games. It probably had the most satisfying kills I’ve ever experienced in any game. The very limited ammo and kicking mechanic made it feel so good when I saw that outlaw flop over like a Gmod ragdoll and I had to throw my gun and find another one or an axe to throw at some dude and hope he dies. The maps were also really fun, and finding weapons felt really good

Ignoring the amazing mods that enhance and sometimes fix the looks , textures , models , animations and sounds of the game , I feel like this already awesome game would benefit from two things: One , possibly allowing for weapons from the Colt Navy and upward to just barely manage to oneshot to the head so that the high inaccuracy from movement does not feel redundant , leading to the goofiest playstyle like those dicks throwing barrels and jumpkickers to dominate .Second , fix the spawns so that winning one fight with 2 health does not feel like it will inmediately lead to dying because you can not escape due to some dude spawning two meters from you and ending your ass .

Don't even rack on PvZ GW2. That game dogs on Overwatch any day. Actually one of the most fun hero shooters, or whatever that type of game is called.

Man i´ve been hoping for valve to pick this game up for years now.

I used to play this game until the early morning with my friend, those were good times.

And honestly this game is underrated, its so fun whe you have enough players and get used to the guns and shooting mechanics

I have over 300 hours on the game right now. Its so addicting once you get over the initial learning curve. Rhis game has no battle pass, no frequent updates, its addicting beacuse the core gameplay is so satisfying. And I agree with this game being goofy and also serious at the same time... One of a kind game

Outlaws is probably still the best cowboy game and Red Dead doesn't count because it's too structured, normie tier and 3rd person. It's really too bad there aren't more old west fps games.

My only experience with FoF is a weapon set that was used on a gmod RP server like 15 years ago. But I didn't have FoF, so all of the weapons were errors and I just had to use the cross hairs... fun server tho ngl. Thanks for the video, I'll check it out!

as someone who discovered it bc it was free and for linux i started playing it really underrated game and valve schould remove kicking and knifes from it, assholes are using them

As a former player of the Competitive side of Fistful of Frags, an amazing thing about the goofiness is that it's built into the core design philosophy. There will always be serious approaches that take the meta by storm, certain weapons and combinations that just make for different playstyles you can call "Viable" but there's an equal amount of goofier off-meta, or should I say anti-meta, tactics that help punish those people. Can't deal with someone who is spamming shotguns? Dynamite and Dynamite belt make the game far easier to take them down. Someone killing you with a revolver or mares leg when you get too close? Brass knuckles can help disarm their weapon by smacking them in the face.

Even picking up barrels to block sniper shots and kicking them at people for massive damage is viable, and supported with abilities like Heavy Loads. The game is Dynamic and Alive, and constantly fun. Damage is meaty, accuracy is rewarded, weapons are fairly balanced in their tiers, and the game rewards you for killing people in cool ways more so than killing people regularly. Its insane. Its perfect.

Fistful of Frags and Day of Infamy are my two favorite shooters and both of them rarely every have more than one server and it's because god made them to show me what true greatness is, and prove to me that i will never experience it in full

As a kid back in the early to mid 2010s with a horrible laptop, steam account and too much free Time so i baisicly played every free game there is to play on steam and this one stuck with me till even 2022 when i came back to it with my friend cause why not

Its funny your mention to RDR2 multiplayer, but trust me when i say RDRevolver had the goofiest and funniest cowboy multiplayer ive seen, it was amazing with multitap.
