Shazam: Fury of the Gods - The Sequel No One Wanted

I like you and your channel but regarding this review…..BULLSHIT. This was a great fucking movie.

Better than every dc movie

In my opinion, the main reason this movie didnt work is because they, for some reason or another, didn't utilize the main character at all. They had a great setup for an interesting and dramatic storyline with Billy. Not Shazam, Billy. He was already the most interesting character in the first film, and they made him just as interesting in this one with the very real-life concern about aging out of the foster system, and his deep-seeded paranoia that if he lets his family out of his sight that they will abandon him just like his parents did. It's a superb setup for a character arc that is just wasted on scenes of Shazam acting like a completely different character. There is such a huge disconnect between Billy and Shazam that was present in the first film but is so much more potent in this one, made even worse by the fact that they sideline Billy for the entire movie. Freddy is a little too spazy for my taste, it was funny and endearing in the first but its pretty obnoxious in this. All the scenes with Asher Angel are great, they are well written, well acted, and emotional, and they just don't use him. At the end when they ressurect the kid, HE COMES BACK IN SHAZAM FORM! Ridiculous. I even like the idea of the Daughters of Atlas, and the fact that they ended up being more deep and interesting than I first thought. But again, its wasted with action scenes that I just don't care about, and Shazam making pop culture refences and slinging bad slang which Billy would never say because he's really not that kinda teenager. Id excuse it if they would have just thrown in a line or two about how being in the Shazam body comes with a whole different set of brain chemicals that make using the powers a euphoric experience, or that Billy spends as much time as Shazam because Shazam is powerful, and Billy feels powerless. However, none of that is actually in the movie, and it just feels like wasted potential after the emotional stakes of the first film.

That girl playing the youngest of the 3 goddesses looks familiar, almost as if I've seen and heard much about her in the last months. Weird, weird. Someday she might be the right choice for a Disney movie. Afterall, it's Hollywood, baby.

Saw the first one, was funny and creative. 2nd one had to include a gay hero of course. Did they need to make one of them gay? Probably not, movie would of been fine without it but woke hollywood did what they do best.

This movie sucked.

As a shazam fan I'm not gonna watch it and never will because the first pissed me off the shazam movie was a mockery of his character he was a stupid kid the entire movie yet shazam from justice league war and the return of black adam kicked ass and he was smarter because HES SUPPOSED TO HAVE THE WISDOM OF SOLOMON which let's him make smart choices like not saying lightning out of my hands over and over again and use his powers for buying giggle juice (liquor) for him and his friend the real shazam would've had put up a better fight too considering he has superhuman reflexes and can somewhat fight and it would've been smarter to make mamaragan train him at least a little

You seemed to remember the plot WAY better then you initially let on...

You can't have too many main characters it splits screen time sacrifice character development, and diminishes the significance of the main character. This is why sidekicks, on average, fail. An entire family of Shazams gives me no reason to watch heroes should be solo.

The first one was cringe at best, don’t know why people went to see the sequel.

Shazam is supposed to be as strong as super man (some argue stronger) but because he is technically a teenager he has his weaknesses, I get it. It just seems this wasn’t a super hero movie more like something off the cw. Where the super hero angle is secondary to the story. Shazam is one of the better new age dc movies but it’s still not great. I really liked the first Shazam I’d give that 8/10. This one tho I give 5.5/10.

I don't want to say I didn't want it. But they teased something in the previous movie that we never got. That's what annoyed me, and I'm sure there's more like me. What we actually wanted, we never, and never will get.

It's just there. It wasn't good. It wasn't bad. Just....existed.

While this was not the best of movies, it wasn't terrible. Don't get me wrong, it was trite, formulaic, and, in places, a little boring, but I didn't feel like clawing my eyes out or drinking myself into oblivion because of it.

It was too hard to watch, I never finished it. They made Shazam so dumb I had to turn it off.

that movie is soooo bad I watched it the other day, wtf was that, I watched because it came in tv, only saw it now because I will never give these guys any money again and I also really didn't care at all about these movies or the Disney bs

Rachel zegler, snow white in the "modern" snow white remake, is in this movie. That's where you know this movie isn't worth it

Well, I like both “Shazam” movies but, I’m gonna have to go with the first one. It’s too bad that actress Michelle Borth didn’t return to the sequel since she got fired for showing her empathy on her instagram page but, we’ll always remember her.

Eh, I liked it, though if they do get green lit for another movie I hope they can do better. I saw this one comment that said the kids should do the scenes so the adults have an idea on how they’d do it 😊

I think the reason why people watched DC movies was to compare them to Marvel movies. But now that Marvel has dropped the ball nobody cares all that much about superhero movies anymore.

I had the misfortune of watching this at a friends house today and immediately went to this video following my experience. I genuinely think I would’ve probably lived a happier and longer life if I never watched this garbage.

It was a fair but at least not bad why can't a super hero movie just be simple cause if it's complicated then u complain if it's simple u complain no winning just enjoy the movie

When Billy died I felt nothing, mainly because I knew they weren’t going to be brave enough to kill the main character. So imagine my surprise when he wasn’t really dead..

when I was a kid in the70's I collected comics. I have a picture of me and John Davey dressed as captain marvel. There was only one shazam. All the rest is dei equity dull crap. The rainbow shazams are crap and nobody wants it.

I actually thought Lucy Liu was one of the few who did seem like she gave a shit and was trying.

I only watched this movie to see my beautiful Seth Cohen back on screen wearing tight spandex, and the movie delivered. So I'm happy. Adam Brody has gotten so delicious and muscular ever since Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

This movie sucked. The villains were bland and uninteresting. The Daughters of Atlas? Are they even in the comics?

I wanted a movie about Mister Mind.
