What mini ramp tricks should I learn?!
ОтветитьI love how you explained everything so thoroughly, awesome video and awesome mini ramp
ОтветитьI've heard you use this pendulum thing a few times before. I think your head is actually the pivot while your feet and the board are the pendulum. (Love your videos though!)
ОтветитьGreat content
Just started skating 6 months ago at 41 years old and your info is incredibly helpful. Are there any older videos of yours you recommend I look at for basics?

Probably too soon in this mini ramp series so far, but I definitely want to see blunt fakie eventually.
Ответитьi love this video an mini rap i would love to skate with you one day ...san diego native an thank for that bowl you guys made in old town i never knew it was there.
ОтветитьLove all your vids! I think you have a great vibe and amazing attitude! Wondering what pants those are. They look like a good fit!
ОтветитьThnx for the video! Maybe a bit of topic but what kind of shoes are you riding on?
ОтветитьNice, ramp.
Ответитьi like the new approach with scripted info in between. much more structured and better to understand like that. Good job, thanks!
Ответитьdooooooooood im so glad i found your channel. thanks for posting.
Ответитьgreat video but for the love of god remove your necklace before filming. so loud
ОтветитьYou are a great teacher - keep going!
ОтветитьZack, nice video, but I wanted to know if you can share the radius of the transitions on both sides, height and overall length of the ramp. The Reason for this, we want to do a also a backyard cement mini ramp in Mexico 🇲🇽
ОтветитьI am stoked to see footie from this ramp 🎉
ОтветитьThank you for sharing your knowledge and perspective in the way of explaining body mechanics in transition.
ОтветитьThe backyard dream 🔥
ОтветитьFS Disaster. FS Smith. Why is FS so much harder!?!?!!, I feel like my shoulders don't rotate and lead back into the ramp and I just run out of my attempts.
ОтветитьHope there’s a build/pour video coming up for this.
Ответитьmy friends literally call me slash god because its all i do when im at the bowl and its funny that i still find myself watch trick tips on how to slash grind haha there is always room for improvment folks
ОтветитьThanks for putting this together! I was searching about this a lot a few months ago, and there aren’t enough good tutorials on it. This one might be the best!
ОтветитьCould you explain how to guide a bs boneless into your hand to stall, I can't seem to do it, I'm sure I could figure out the jump in from there but please show me how it's done
ОтветитьThis video is so helpful, thank you! Really helped clarify some of my mistakes
ОтветитьThe staying in the ramp tip is 100% the biggest thing that helped me advance on mini ramps. I'm 34 in grew up pretty much without transition skating so it was all stairs and rails. I always felt like an idiot at the park because I couldn't really do any transition tricks. I started practicing mini to learn ways to flow through the park better.
ОтветитьThanks. As a kind of adult beginner, this was super helpful. I've been skating mini ramp less than a bowl. In a bowl I can keep my foot somehow in the pocket but when trying a mini ramp the back foot always find its way too high up the tail. Gotta really concentrate on that!
ОтветитьNice vid! I wonder what made you choose concrete copings instead of regular metal ones.
ОтветитьQuality content. I hope more beginner friendly episodes coming soon.
ОтветитьCan you do the making of tutorials video on trick like fakie transferrable or double-switch popper?
ОтветитьThat's a great looking mini-ramp, Zack! I appreciate the tutorial. I've never been too much of a ramp skater...I had a period where I could do most of the basics but also, I had something happen in my late 20s-early 30s, that messed up my equilibrium - it's something to do with my vision, which has gotten worse, lately.
Anyway, that's life and I'll persevere and in the meantime, I've been "re-learning" my ramp skills. My buddy's skatepark doesn't have a full mini, just a mini quarter and some tall quarters, but that's what I've been skating. The mini is convex and doesn't have traditional coping - it's got angle iron on top, sort of like a mini crossed with a street transition. I've been working on kickflips fs airs and getting air above the deck. I can do a beefy fs air, the width of the ramp, but haven't unlocked the height, yet. The kickflip is eluding me, also but I'm close to getting it. It will come with time and understanding and that's why I appreciate the tips on body positioning and weight distribution.
What good how to skate transition clip bro 💯
Ответитьone of the nicest backyard mini ramps , must be a dream to skate on. nice tips!
ОтветитьSmith
ОтветитьI'm sure I'll be in the minority in the comments but I really appreciate you mentioning how to guide with the upper body and not the lower. I've been riding bigger transition lately and because of poor body mechanics turning I've been having issues with my hip flexor now.
One thing I do have questions about is how do I break the habit and start getting more comfortable putting my front foot closer to the bolts and less on the nose. I've noticed that if I do this it's much easier to turn, however I feel less stable even with wider wheelbase boards.
Also, if there's any other tips for us over 30 year olds on things you recommend such as ways you like to warm up before your session and how you like to finish it that would be interesting as well as what other things do you do to strengthen your body for skating mini ramps and transition.
FS Axle stall is haunting me. Can’t tell you how much time I spend on the coping just looking back down and wondering how tf to get back down there.
ОтветитьBro you should give lessons you could make extra money doing so
ОтветитьHey dude I really appreciate your videos like this one . I’ve been skating for over 10 years mostly flat street skating , I’m just now getting into transition more and these basics help me a ton. Thanks Zack!
ОтветитьJust picked up a miniramp can’t wait to get started when the rain stops
ОтветитьA dream
Ответитьgreat stuff!!
ОтветитьI’m actually starting to think about a house move with the potential for a mini ramp in the garden. Come on family it’ll be fun for everyone 😂
Ответить"Your head is your pendulum when skating transition" - Zack Dowdy🔥
ОтветитьDropping in.....First time hold somebodies hand.....I've helped soooo many kids not get hurt after I proper did myself at 45....
ОтветитьThank you so much for this one, it was excelent!
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial Zack. 🤘🤘
